February Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

In February, visitors of Manchester can experience a week-long, intense sport competition called The National Squash Championships. This brings out England's best and toughest male and female contestants. The event is highly popular in the city, and it is accessible through many different modes of transportation. Walking to it is recommended if you are close by, since the venue will be extremely crowded, but it can be accessed by bus, car or tram as well.

The city's finest weather definitely does not occur in February, and those not accustomed to colder winters might find the temperatures too cold to venture outside.

Therefore, some of the most popular exhibits in the city are indoors and, as an added bonus, absolutely free. One of these is the John Rylands Library, a perfect example of traditional meets contemporary.

The museum, dedicated to the late textile mogul, has beautiful architecture and public reading rooms. Another free yet fun activity for tourists is visiting the Royal Northern College of Music. There, they can watch student performances at no charge.

A third unique tourist attraction is the beer garden at the City Airport. Now only used for small aircraft, the airport provides up-close observation of these planes' takeoff and landing.

The average temperature is 39°F (3.9°C). The average low temperature gets down to 36°F (2°C), although this mainly occurs at night. The daytime average high temperature of 45°F (7°C) can be deceptive, for it is often bright and sunny during the day.

There is an average of 2.8" (72 mm) of precipitation. There is an average of 10.1 days of precipitation.

There is an average of 67 hours of sunlight for the month.
