March Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

March in Mallorca begins to warm up slightly, giving visitors a chance to get outside more comfortably and enjoy all of the sights, activities, and restaurants of the island.

Since the locals know that tourist season is about to be underway, they host a fabulous party on March 1st called the Day of the Balearic Islands which serves as an introduction to all the wonderful things the island has to offer.

It includes culturally specific food and music in addition to entertainment aimed specifically at children, making the Day of the Balearic Islands an opportune time to visit Mallorca with a family.

Also, depending on when Easter falls from year to year, March can be a time of a series of more solemn yet cultural ceremonies steeped in the traditions of the island.

The first Easter commemoration comes on Palm Sunday. The second ceremony of distinction is on Munday Thursday, and the final is, of course, Resurrection Sunday.

All three of these days full of events are celebrated out of doors with parades and more somber processions, followed by feasts, many in picnic form.

Beginning in March, Mallorca hosts traditional Spanish bull fights which are available for tourist viewing until October. The bull fights may not be every tourist's taste; however, they are an integral part of Spanish culture that should not be overlooked by someone wanting an authentic Spanish experience while visiting Mallorca.
