    Things to Do in Malaga in April

    La Concepcion

    April is a good time of year to visit the La Concepcion botanical gardens at Carretera de las Pedrizas. These feature numerous species of plants and trees (more than 1,000 in total), and boasts some of the largest tropical plant gardens in Europe, in addition to some rewarding walks.

    One of these is the Wisteria Walk, an arcaded area formed by wisterias that hang over a trellis, and this is particularly spectacular at this time of year, due to the spring flowers coming into bloom. The Canarian Palm Tree Walk leads to a view point where there are some good views of the city of Malaga. These gardens also boast the tallest tree in Malaga, the Monkey Puzzle Tree which is approximately 45 metres high.

    Malaga Bike Tours

    Those who enjoy cycling and sightseeing can try the Malaga Bike Tours, based at C/ Trinidad Grund 4 (Pasaje Talavera), 50 metres from the Plaza de la Marina. These offer a four-hour sightseeing tour of Malaga, starting from the main meeting point of the Plaza de la Marina. The tours run every day starting at 10:00am, and it is recommended to book a place at least 24 hours in advance to avoid disappointment.

    The tour takes visitors around many of the main attractions of Malaga including the Alcazaba, the Picasso Museum, the bullring and the promenade. In addition for football fans there is also a Malaga Football Tour, which starts at 10:00 and 14:00 on Mondays to Wednesdays, and 10:00 on Thursdays to Saturdays, though it is not available on Sundays. This includes a survey of the history of Malaga Football Club and a visit to the club's football stadium.
