Magaluf is a lively holiday resort that's ideally located on the south west coast of Majorca, one on Spain's Balearic Islands. Thanks to its idyllic setting, it enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate with hot, sunny summers that draw visitors every year.
The resort is well-known for its epic party atmosphere, especially during the summer months, so those who plan on visiting at this time of year should come prepared. It is a very popular destination for all-girl or all-boy groups who go all-out on their hen and stag trips.
June marks the beginning of the peak tourist season in Magaluf, and with good reason. The temperatures are high even at night, and the precipitation is extremely low. The average daily temperature is a balmy 22°C, though temperatures reach highs of 27°C on most days. Low temperatures drop to 16°C in June, but this occurs only at night, as a general rule and is still rather pleasant. The nights are perfect for clubbing or dining out.
Each day, sunbathers will flock to the warm, sandy coast in order to soak up the sun's beautiful, warm rays and there's plenty to enjoy in June. The month sees a further increase in sunshine hours, to 12 beautifully sunny hours a day. In fact, there's a 70% chance of a sunny day.
With perfect beach weather, there are many water sports available at this time of year, such as Jet Ski rental and parasailing over the sparkling blue waters. The waters around the coast of Magaluf are finally warm enough to swim without a doubt, reaching a lovely 22°C.
Rainfall is a non-factor when planning a June vacation in Magaluf. Even if it does rain or drizzle, the weather always clears up shortly. On average, there is 14mm of precipitation and 7 days of precipitation for the entire month, which means there's only 10% chance of rain at any time. The HM Martinique Hotel seems to be a popular choice for both couples and the party crowd as well. Holiday makers will appreciate the proximity to the main attractions, with the beach and the resort's bars and restaurants just a few minutes away. The hotel's main attraction is the large palm-fringed outdoor pool which will get plenty of use on warm sunny days in June. Inside, the hotel has a bright and modern feel with comfortable, well-equipped rooms.
One of the coolest places to stay in Magaluf is the renowned Sol House Wave Hotel. This place caters towards the younger crowd and has a buzzing social atmosphere with modern rooms and various bars and lounges to hang out in. Located right on the beach, the hotel has some unique attractions, including an incredible wave pool where guests can try their hand at flowboarding.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Magaluf during the day, you can enjoy a relaxing stay in nearby Palma Nova which is just a short walk away. Intertur Hotel Hawaii Mallorca & Suites is one of the most popular hotels in the resort and is highly recommended for couples and families. Overlooking the bay of Palma, the hotel features contemporary décor and a stylish pool area where adults can unwind, while kids will have fun in the on-site children's club. All-inclusive or half board dining is available.
Visitors to Magaluf are spoiled for choice when it comes to beaches and with sunshine and sea temperatures of 22°C, it's easy to see why they're so popular at this time of year. As well as Magaluf Beach in the centre of the resort, the nearby resort of Palma Nova has its own blue flag beaches which holiday makers can walk to in just a few minutes.
Playa Palma Nova is a huge 1km long beach with soft golden sand and plenty of space for sunbathing. Catering to both adults and children, this family beach is great for water sports and also has a couple of small playgrounds for kids. Other services include showers, toilets, umbrellas and sun lounger hire.
The nightlife is what Magaluf is known for, and Jumpin' Jak's is one bar that helps it earn the reputation of being the place to go when it's time to party. Situated at the top of the strip, its neon lights draw in holiday makers with the promise of a good time. This bar is particularly known for its wide selection of alcoholic drinks.
Another popular venue, come day or night, is Eastenders Bar which is also located on the strip. During the daytime, this pub and restaurant offers British tourists a taste of home with dishes such as fish and chips and a full English breakfast. At night time, the venue transforms into a lively karaoke and dance bar with a buzzing atmosphere and a great cocktail menu.
In contrast to Magaluf's vibrant nightlife scene, Palma Nova offers a more relaxed dining scene and a great choice of eateries for when you want a good meal. Restaurante Venezia Da Luigi is a highlyated Italian restaurant in the centre of the resort which will certainly satisfy your appetite. The menu is full of classic Italian dishes, from pasta to delicious thin crust pizza. The outdoor terrace is especially popular on warm June evenings.
While the beaches of Magaluf are beautiful, especially in the sunny month of June, there is even more beauty to be found under the water. With sea temperatures heating up, this month is perfect to take part in some aquatic activities. Companies such as Big Blue Diving offer tourists the chance to experience scuba diving where they can witness some of the region's under-water creatures. This professional diving school is ideally located between Magaluf and Palma Nova and offers a range of diving courses and packages.
Alternatively, if you want to have fun above the waves, the beaches of Magaluf are awash with exciting water-sports to take part in. Adrenaline junkies can feed their need for speed on a jet ski. There are many tour companies based on the beach who hire out jet skis for a few hours, so holiday makers can explore the coast and have a great time.
