Sorted by popularity:

Magaluf is a popular holiday resort located on the south west coast of Majorca in Spain. The resort of Palma Nova is nearby and the city of Palma de Majorca is just 10 miles along the coast. The resort is popular with British tourists looking for a fun holiday and mild Mediterranean weather.

Just like most of the island, February is quite cold in Magaluf as it is still officially winter. Visitors can expect the coldest average temperatures of the year, at 9°C while low temperatures drop to just 4°C on an evening. Nights can feel very chilly, especially with the cool sea breeze, so make sure to pack some warm layers if you're travelling at this time of year. Towards the end of the month things start to warm up slightly, and high temperatures can hit 14°C which feels much more pleasant.

Sunshine hours begin to increase in February as winter comes to an end. From 6 hours in January, it increases to 7 sunny hours and there's a 38% chance of a sunny day. Rainfall also decreases slightly this month, though there is still a chance of wet weather. On average, there's 35mm of precipitation but this falls over 11 wet days, which results in light drizzle and short showers. These will generally pass quickly though, and with just a 9% chance of a cloudy day, should reveal bright, clear skies.

The average sea temperature is at its annual coldest in February, at just 14°C which is even colder than January. This is still too cold for swimming and other water-related activities, but the sandy beaches are lovely for peaceful strolls at any time of year.

Like January, the colder temperatures and chance of rain could deter some from choosing Magaluf as a vacation destination, but it shouldn't. There are many bars, clubs and restaurants that run all year long regardless of the time of year or the weather.

Those looking for great accommodation in Magaluf will be spoiled for choice, even in February. The purpose built tourist resort has an array of hotels and apartments to suit all budgets and requirements.

The Sol Katmandu Park Hotel is a family friendly hotel located next door to the resort's theme park - Katmandu Park. Guests at this hotel get free entry to the park. Unlike some of the rowdier 18-30's venues, this hotel is known for being one of the quieter hotels in the area so it is perfect for guests looking for a relaxing break in Majorca and is also a great choice for those travelling with kids. The beach and resort centre are just 100m away while there's a large pool area and a choice of restaurants on site.

For groups of young travellers looking for somewhere to stay, the Fergus Pax Hotel has a lively atmosphere and is ideally located close to the BCM nightclub. The adult only hotel is a popular choice with those celebrating hen and stag dos in the area. Contemporary double and quadruple rooms are available and you can even request a sea view.

If you're travelling on a tight budget, Kensington Econotels offers low priced rooms in nearby Torrenova, just a short distance from Magaluf. Rooms here are simple but well equipped with kitchenettes and private bathrooms.

Magaluf is well-known for its party scene and has a huge choice of bars and clubs where holiday makers can let their hair down. For a grown-up good time, tourists should hit the strip and bar hop to and from places like Crystal's. This establishment was one of the first on the strip, but it has kept up well with the times with some recent refurbishing and a great choice of drinks. It should definitely be a stop on your night out.

After a few drinks, part goers can head to the resort's biggest club and, in fact, the biggest club in Majorca - BCM. This club is the reason many head to Magaluf and regularly hosts famous DJs and events such as foam parties. It opens 'til 6am, so there's plenty of time to dance the night away.

Last but not least, travellers from the UK looking for a taste of home will find it at The Boatyard. This bar and restaurant is located on Magaluf's main promenade and offers beautiful beach views. The menu features a selection of mouth-watering dishes, from steak and ale pie to a traditional Sunday dinner.

The weather is generally not good enough to visit the resort's beaches in February, so travellers will need to find other ways to keep themselves entertained. One of the most fun attractions in Magaluf is Katmandu Park, which has been voted "Trip Advisor's Best Amusement Park in the Balearic Islands". This theme park can be hours of fun for people of all ages, not just children. Some of the awesome activities include miniature golf, a house of mirrors, a funhouse tunnel and a 4-D ride as well as an upside-down house which provides unique photo opportunities.

Holiday makers who want to take home some authentic souvenirs should head to the nearby town of Calvia which holds weekly markets. Located along the Calle Major, the market consists of more than 60 stalls selling everything from food to traditional crafts. The best way to get there from Magaluf is by taxi, which takes just 10 minutes.
