Lyon Weather November Averages, France

    Lyon Weather for November 2020

Located in the eastern central part of France, Lyon is loved by both locals and tourists for its architecture, culture and food. The architecture in Lyon is inspired by the Renaissance Era which tourists can see up close and personal when they visit the Old City of Lyon.

In November, visitors can expect daytime high temperatures of around 10°C (50°F). This is the winter time in Lyon so tourists will need to be well prepared for cold weather.

In the evenings, the average low temperature is usually around 4°C (39°F).

Lyon will see roughly 80 mm or a little more than 3 inches of precipitation in the month of November. Nearly half of the days of the month will see some amount of precipitation, usually rain but snow can't be ruled out if the temperature dips low enough. There are generally only 4 to 5 hours of sunshine per day so it is suggested that visitors plan ahead any activities that they might want to do.

Even though it's a bit cold, it's still a good time to explore some of the city's architectural wonders including The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist with its amazing stained glass windows and gothic architecture. It was built in the 12th century and includes a rather odd feature; an astronomical clock that keeps perfect time to this day. If possible, it is suggested that visitors plan their tour so that they will be inside the cathedral when the clock strikes 4 PM. The clockwork figures inside are quite impressive when one stops to think when they were made and how long they've lasted!

Les Carres Pegase on Rue Chevreul is a fine medium sized budget hotel. Most rooms offer a kitchenette. Also, there is Wi-Fi available in the rooms and the beds are quite comfortable. It's located a short walk or tram ride from the city centre and  there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.
