What's the weather like in Lisbon in September
September sees the weather in Lisbon remain extremely warm.
Temperature
The average temperature still reaches a high of 26°C (that's about 79°F), and never dips any lower than 17°C (about 63°F). You will see several days, at least four, with temperatures above 32°C. The daily average will never drop below 21°C. The lowest ever recorded temperature for September was 11°C and the highest ever recorded in the last 30 years was 37°C.

Also near the Rossio Metro Station is the Mercy Hotel. A 5-star facility, the rooms are modern and tastefully decorated. The views from the hotel of Bairro Alto and Sao Jorge castle are spectacular.

Lx Boutique Hotel on Rua do Alecrim is located between Chiado and Baixa near the river. Trendy rooms with an attentive hotel staff, there is an integral sushi bar and restaurant with plenty of other bars and restaurants nearby.

More 18th century architecture can be seen at the Lisboa Prata Boutique Hotel near Alfama in Bixa Pombalina. There is a bar, snack bar and a breakfast buffet.

The Art Inn in Rossio has a wine bar in the lobby. Located inside Alfama, you are only about 15 minutes walking distance from Sao Jorge castle if you stay here.

Sesimbra Beach
Sesimbra beach is by the small village of Sesimbra. Very quaint, there is a 17th century fort close by. There is some spectacular scenery seemingly out of a storybook with views from the cliff tops overlooking the bay.
Santa Cruz
The city of Santa Cruz also along the north coast has several good beaches. Praia de Sta Helena and Praia de Azenha are two of the largest with white sand and unpolluted waters. The beaches around here are very popular during the summer and there is on average over 50,000 visitors each year.

Hennessys Irish Pub
Hennessys Irish Pub recently added a full service restaurant to the premises. A sports bar, there are widescreen TVs throughout the establishment. It is located by the river in downtown Lisbon.
Bar A Parodia
A cosy bar with an extensive drinks menu is the Bar A Parodia. The owner Filipa is famous for his hospitality. You will find it on the Rua Do Patorcinio.
Matiz Pombalina Bar
The Matiz Pombalina Bar on Rua das Trinas has fantastic cocktails with nice jazz selections playing in the background. It is known for its gin collection and has a great selection of premium vodkas too.
The Stone Café
The Stone Café on Rua Do Joao charges real bargain prices for a city like Lisbon for its food, snacks and drinks. A rock-and-roll bar, the owner is a Rolling Stones aficionado and he has an exhibition in the bar of his private collection of memorabilia.
A Tasca do Chico
For Fado music lovers try the A Tasca do Chico. For 20 years it has been one of the best places to listen to Fado in the city.

Festival Regional de Gastronomia de Leiria
Food lovers will enjoy the Festival Regional de Gastronomia de Leiria which runs all month and is a celebration of Portugese cuisine.
Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
The Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival also takes place this month, and has grown massively in popularity since its inception in the mid 1990s.
Sintra Mountain Range
The Sintra Mountain Range is a small mountain range outside Lisbon that has been classified as a World Heritage site. The beauty of the region is legend and the area used to be reserved exclusively for Portuguese royalty prior to 1910.
Park and Palace of Monserrate
The 19th century Park and Palace of Monserrate is one of the top sites for visitors to view in Sintra. The gardens are stunning.
Quinta Da Regaleira
Another UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site is the Quinta Da Regaleira. This palace and extensive grounds has lakes, grottos, fountains and beautiful architecture to admire.
The Sintra Natural History Museum
Outside of Lisbon city in Sintra there are several museums worth visiting. The Sintra Natural History Museum has a great dinosaur exhibit for the children. The Sintra Museum of Modern Art has an eclectic collection of art and is also very child-friendly. Admission is free.
Campo de Golfe da Belavista
There are plenty of nice golf courses in the Lisbon area and the weather is perfect for the game this time of year. The Campo de Golfe da Belavista is a 9-hole course in the centre of Lisbon. The course is only 5 minutes from the airport. There is also a driving range.
