Praia do Centro and Pria da Fisica are two of the most popular beaches in Santa Cruz along the north Atlantic Coast outside Lisbon. The weather is great for golf in October. One of the leading courses in the area is the Belas Club de Campo in Sintra. A par 72 course, 6,107 metres long, the Sintra Hills make a picturesque backdrop for the club. It is only 20 minutes from Lisbon and has two restaurants on the grounds.
The Clube Quinta do Peru
The Clube Quinta do Peru is located near the Parque Natural da Arrabida which is 30 minutes by car from the centre of Lisbon. There is a restaurant, bar and pro shop. The green fees for the public are 100 euros.
Santa Marta Lighthouse Museum
The Santa Marta Lighthouse Museum is free and a nice relaxing place to spend a few hours. You will find it in Cascais.
In Almada you will find the Elisiario. A wind-surfing school, if you learn how to windsurf here in the rather rough Atlantic coast you will be able to do so just about anywhere.
Old Castle Almada
Across the river from Lisbon is the Old Castle Almada. The views from the top of the castle are great and from the ramparts you can see the entire city of Lisbon.
Convent of the Capuchos
The historical Convent of the Capuchos in Sintra was founded in the 16th century. Lying in ruins for years, only recently was it opened to the public. Conservation work continues as it is now part of a designated World Heritage Site.
