    Lisbon Weather for August 2023

What's the weather like in Lisbon in August

August is the warmest month of the year in Lisbon.

    Temperature

The average temperature reaches a very warm high of 28°C (that's about 82°F), and temperatures never drop any lower than 18°C (about 64°F), even at night. The lowest temperature ever in August was not too much lower than the average at 14°C. The high temperatures will almost never go below 26°C and at least one week a month temperatures hit 30°C or more.

    Rainfall

There is virtually no chance of rain, with the average being only around 6mm. Thunderstorms are rare in August in Lisbon. Two days a month you might see .1 inches of rain and 2 more days in the month there will be light showers that do not last long.

Humidity in the mornings stays around 80%.  Evening relative humidity drops to 48%, with averages during the day at 65%. The dew point reaches 14 and like the rest of the summer months the air temperature feels very comfortable to the skin.

    Sunshine Hours

There is about 11 hours of average daily sunshine with 14 hours of total daylight hours. You likely will not see any clouds for 85% of the day. The sun rises by 7 AM and sets close to 8 PM.

The UV index reading is at 8 so pack plenty of sunscreen with high SPF ratings and wear good sunglasses that protect against the UV rays. Seek shelter from the sun during the hottest parts of the day - you can check the local weather forecast to find out when this is. If you are out and about sightseeing then drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid sunstroke.

    Sea Temperature

The average sea temperature is about 20°C (about 68°F), so this a perfect time of year to head to the beaches, famous for their surfing, or the many surrounding golf courses. Dominant wind direction is southeast with average speeds of 12 mph. The Wind probability on the Beaufort scale is 40, so surfing is still very good in August.
