La Recova Market
If you're visiting Arrecife for the Trofeo Sar Princesa Alexia, make time to stop byLa Recova Market. Whilst this market is great to visit at any time of the year, it's often busiest and has the most stalls when there's a festival or event going on, such as the boat regatta in March. The recently re-established market features a handful of stalls with artisans selling all sorts of handmade crafts, including jewellery, pottery, clothes, shoes, bread and plants. There's also a small café in the centre of the market where you can grab a drink or something to eat.
With daytime highs of around 23°C, March is a great time to hit the beach. Playa Grande is the main beach in Puerto del Carmen and stretches on for over 1km, providing plenty of room for kids to play and adults to relax. Here you'll find soft golden sands, clear waters ideal for swimming, parasols and sun beds to rent, showers, changing rooms, toilets, vending machines, lifeguards and various water sports. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops in the area, too.
Timanfaya National Park
Cloudy days are still a common weather feature in March in Lanzarote. If you're stuck for something to do on an overcast day, visit the Timanfaya National Park.
