What's the weather like in Lake Garda in June

June is one of the hottest months at the stunning Lake Garda in northern Italy, close to Verona to the east and Milan to the west, and so a very popular time with tourists who throng to the region to see its beautiful ancient ruins and stunning lakeside views.

Temperature

The average temperature at this time of year is a warm and lovely 22ºC (71.6ºF) with highs reaching 26ºC (78ºF), making it amongst the highest in Italy at this time of year. Even the very lowest average temperatures of 17ºC (63ºF) are warm enough to eat outside and enjoy the lake by both day and night.

Rainfall

Despite this month only having, on average, one more rainy day than May there is a slight spike in the amount of rainfall that falls. On average this month there are 13 rainy days with around 85mm of rain falling which suggests the rainfall comes in the form of heavy, rather than prolonged, showers.

Sunshine Hours

On average visitors to the region this month can expect to enjoy 11 daily sunshine hours, making it another great month for enjoying outdoor activities and, thanks to the increased temperatures, even some sunbathing at the many pools and beaches found around the lake.vFor sunbathing you'll need sunshine and this month you are very likely to get it as there is a 39% chance of experiencing a sunny day. With only a 7% chance of finding a cloudy day, it's well worth taking advantage of the sun not shining every once in a while, to explore some of the indoor museums, churches and historic villas which litter the lake's shores.

Wind

Again this month, wind is unlikely to prove a problem with only a 5% chance of experiencing a windy day, although if you are interest in some of the sporting activities on the lake which require wind like sailing or windsurfing, don't despair, local winds, especially in the northern part of the lake, will make sure to give you what you need so keep an eye on the local weather forecast.

Lake Garda Beaches for June

Experience local lake-caught fish prepared in the traditional way of the region at the cosy, family-run Osteria al Pescatore.
