Ko phi phi Weather for October 2020

What's the Weather like in Phi Phi in October

October in Koh Phi Phi is the start of the lowest temperature months and sees the rainfall starting to fall gradually as the wet season nears its end. The highs mostly fluctuate as the lows begin to fall causing the drop in average temperature to 27 C (80.6 F) which lasts throughout the winter months.

At the beginning of October the highs and lows come in at around 30 C (86 F) and 24 C (75.2 F) continuing a fairly straightforward trend from September. Chances of rainfall are at around 61% after its peak rising in September which seems like the depletion of its final traces of energy as it mostly falls throughout the month of October.

Towards the middle of the month the highs perform a valiant rise to 30.4 C (86.7 F) while the lows lightly drop to 23.9 C (75 F), but even with the slight drop of the lows, the middle of October is still the warmest part of the month. Rainfall continues its fluctuant fall as it goes below 60% chance for the first time since August.

As the end of the month comes around the highs drop down to 29.9 C (85.8 F) which is the lowest point of high temperatures for Koh Phi Phi throughout the year. The lows reach their lowest point of the month at 23.8 C (74.8 F) making the end of the month the coolest part, so if you are looking for a cooler Koh Phi Phi experience, the last week of October is perfect.

Rainfall fluctuates around the last week of October as it makes its last rise of the year above 60% chance and then falls drastically to end the month at 55% chance. The average amount of rainfall in October is 330 mm divided unevenly into 20 days of the month making it the month with the second highest volume of rainfall throughout the year.

The good news is that the average sea temperature remains untouched from the summer months at 29 C (84 F), so out of those 10 dry days find your way to the ocean to swim in its bountiful warmth. The average amount of sunshine rises again to 6 hours daily as the cloud coverage falls throughout October after reaching its peak at 84% (mostly cloudy) on the 1st.

    Phi Phi Hotels in October

Choosing a place to stay on Koh Phi Phi can be hectic, but luckily in October it is less packed and rooms will be cheaper and more accessible. If you get lucky and book in advance you will also be able to find some great deals on vacation packages that try to fill the rooms during a less busy wet season.

Stay in a unique styled exotic villa at Phi Phi Rantee Cliff Resort on Koh Phi Phi Don. This resort is in a secluded area far from the main pier and is great for those who do not want to be bothered by the noisy party life of the island. Stay in a villa, bungalow, or bamboo house equipped with free Wifi, a hot shower, and a private balcony. Attractions include sea-kayaking, fishing, snorkeling and much more. The downside is that you must be prepared to use a long-tailed boat when you need to get to Tonsai Village.

For something less exotic and more Western, the PP Charlie Beach Resort is a great option. Set on one of Koh Phi Phi's most beautiful beaches at the face of Loh Dalum Bay, this resort is both comfortable and alluring. Other things include an outdoor pool, scuba diving, adventure tours, and sports fishing with a great cuisine service.

    Bars and Restaurants

October is still a vibrant time in Koh Phi Phi although it is one of the rainiest months and sees a drop in visitors. There are plenty of young crowds, romantic couples, and families still scouring about the island and since it is less crowded, dining environments are more intimate as the patrons enjoy their vacations.

If you love seafood then visiting Tonsai Seafood when you are in Koh Phi Phi is a must. This place is in a great location along the seafront in the main pier where you can eat a delicious fresh lobster while being soothed by the waves of the ocean. Although they serve a wide assortment of seafood, they also serve other entrees such as steaks and spaghetti so you can choose your favorite delicacy.

Have some authentic Thai food while you are in Thailand at Papaya Restaurant. Located in Tonsai Village this restaurant has great Thai dishes that will make your mouth water (literally as Thai spiciness standards are far different from Western standards). At Papaya you can enjoy some curry, papaya salad, or fried noodles in the dynamic setting of Tonsai Village.
