What's the Weather like in Icmeler in September

Temperature

After the two hectic summer months of July and August, temperatures start to go down and Icmeler becomes a bit quieter in September. The maximum daytime temperature is now 23°C and the minimum daily temperature is 16°C. The average daily temperature is 20°C. Although the summer temperatures are beginning to drop slightly, they will remain high enough for tourists to still enjoy time on the beach. The warmest day of the month is September 1, which has high and low temperatures that are almost four degrees higher than September 30, the coolest day of the month. September is the fourth-warmest month of the year, after June, July and August.

Sea Temperature

The sea temperature is still the same as it was in the previous month: the yearly maximum of 25°C.

Rainfall

September marks the end of the virtually rainless summer season, something that especially the locals are happy about. Still, the total amount of rainfall this month is not very much. 20mm of precipitation are divided between only a couple of days with rainfall. In terms of total rainfall, September is the fifth-wettest month of the year. May is fourth after the three dry summer months. The chance of rainfall increases significantly in the course of the month though. September 1 is the driest day with a 7% chance of precipitation; September 30 has a 16% chance. Throughout the month there are two main types of precipitation. Thunderstorms occur on 68% of the days with precipitation and light rain is observed on 28% of those days.

Cloud

The increasing amount of rainfall is related to increasing cloud cover. Cloud cover is at 17% in the beginning of the month; before the month is over it has increased to 31%, which is a significant 14% increase. However, September is still only the fourth-cloudiest month of the year. To illustrate the large increase of cloud cover throughout the month: September 1 is overcast for only 3% of the time, while September 30 is overcast for 24% of the time.

Sunshine

Even though more and more clouds move in, September is a sunny month by all accounts. Every day has ten beautiful hours of sunshine, only one hour less than July and August. September is the third-sunniest month of the year and there is still plenty of time to hit the beach and go swimming.

In the course of the month the length of the day is shortening. From the beginning to the end of the month there is a 1.07-hour decrease in day length. In other words, every September day is 2.2 minutes shorter than the day before. September 1 is the longest day of the month with 12.56 hours of daylight. The longest day of the month is September 30 with 11.50 daylight hours left.
