August Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the Weather like in Icmeler in August

Temperature

Located in the southeastern corner of Europe, at the place where the Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea meet, IcmelerTurkey, is one of the most popular summer destinations on the continent. The resort gets overrun by holiday-makers in July and August, the two absolute peak months. August is the hottest month of the year, while July is a very close second. June comes in third. The average daily temperature in August is 25°C. Average daily high temperatures range around 28°C, with afternoon peaks above 30°C. The average daily low temperature in August is a pleasant 21°C. August's temperature is essentially constant; there is no noticeable difference between temperatures in the beginning of the month and at the end. About one-third of the days in August are classified as hot, half of them as warm and the rest as comfortable.

Sea Temperature

The water temperature of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas now averages an almost bath-like 25°C, as high as it gets all year. September has the same sea temperature.

Sunshine

In the course of the month the length of the days decreases. August 1 has 14.00 hours of daylight; by August 31 there are 12.58 daylight hours left. This decrease of 1.02 hours means that every day in August is 2 minutes shorter than the previous one. No need to worry about shortening days though, as the average August day has no less than eleven sunshine hours. It doesn't get sunnier than that. Only July has the same amount of sunshine. In comparison, the months that get the least amount of sunshine, December and January, only have three meagre hours of sunshine per day.

Cloud

That much sunshine is only possible without clouds and August does have virtually cloud-free skies. Cloud cover averages 14% throughout the month, a percentage that rises slightly in the course of the month. August 1 is the clearest day with 12% of cloud cover, while August 31 has 17% of cloud cover. Just like July, a typical August day is overcast only 1% of the time.

Rain

As logic predicts, no clouds also mean no rainfall. August receives basically no precipitation to speak of. Although there is the occasional thunderstorm or short rain shower, the total amount of rainfall in August is negligible. Precipitation is least likely to occur on August 1, which is also the driest day of the year, with a 2% chance of rainfall. August 31 has the highest chance of rainfall this month, at 6%. When it does rain, it happens as thunderstorms on 68% of the time and as light rain 24% of the time.

July and August are by far the driest and hottest months of the year in the resort, two reasons huge flocks of tourists head there during summertime.
