Invisa Hotel Es Pla is an adult-only hotel, tucked in between the beach and a number of popular tourist attractions. Hotel Tropical was established in 1965, making it one of the longest running hotels in the area. Ibiza Beach for October
Cala Conta beach also known as Platges de Comte is very popular in the high season, visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon is recommended. It is one of the best beaches on the island and people love to watch the sunset here. From the beach you can see amazing views of the little islands surrounding Ibiza. The water is turquoise and clear, perfect for swimming and on the beach are several different areas to explore. At the far west end of the beach is a cove used by naturists, here there is shallow water for children to paddle and play but be aware of the stronger current when hedding in deeper.
The secluded beach of Sa Caleta is located east of Cala Jondal. It is tranquil, surrounded by red cliffs and is home to a great restaurant. The water is clear and shallow and the sand is perfect to lay on. You can also snorkel here. Locals enjoy this beach as well as tourists.
Bars and Restaurants
La Paloma is located in San Lorenzo, a little village in the middle of the island. The restaurant offers a small menu so they can concentrate on offering quality fresh dishes. Lots of the ingredients come directly from Italy so you know what you're getting is fresh. The main courses always include two types of pasta, one choice of risotto, two meat dishes, one fish dish and one Bio Plate that's totally organic and vegan. This restaurant caters for anyone and everyone.
For some traditional Ibizian food visit Es Ventall who serve a selection of amazing salads, well cooked meat and fresh fish. The restaurant is located in Sant Antoni, so it's very easy to locate. Everything meal is beautifully displayed here and all for such an affordable price, paella for example is just 18 euros for a huge portion. Leave room for dessert as they present a range of tasty sweets.
Nagai offer contemporary Japanese cuisine, it's the perfect place for sushi lovers. The charming, low-key, laidback environment and 'Tokyo glam' appeal make it stand out from other sushi restaurants in Ibiza. Organic ingredients are used and there are both vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Sitting outside in the candlelit courtyard surrounded with ancient olive trees can be a perfect family environment or great setting for a romantic meal.
The Passion Cafe is a lovely place to stop off for a healthy lunch. Lana Love, the creater of the cafe makes recipes full of goodness; she puts a delicious healthy spin on burgers, pasta, cooked breakfasts and cupcakes. Who would have thought pomegrante and pistachio go so well together? If you're a vegetarian or vegan you will enjoy this place. Smoothies, juices, protein shakes, superfood shakes and raw nut milkshakes are all on the menu along with a refreshing range of coffee.
Things to do in Ibiza in October
Iglesia de Sant Rafel de Sa Creu
The Iglesia de Sant Rafel de Sa Creu is a great place to go for some peace and time to reflect. This church is made up of a single floor and features various shallow chapels. The architectural highlights include a pyramidal bell tower with a small dome and numerous buttresses which give the building its distinct appearance. As well as admiring the church, you can also attend one of the various masses. In October, masses are held at: 6pm Monday to Friday, 7pm on Saturdays and 12.30pm and 6pm on Sundays.
Santa Agnes Church
The Santa Agnes Church is another religious building worthy of a visit during your holiday in Ibiza. Approved by Bishop Abad y Lassiera in 1785, this church is dedicated to Saint Agnes who was a very popular saint in Sant Antoni at the time. Most visitors find the architecture truly stunning with saints and statues set into alcoves and a stunningly unique façade. The church is open from 9am until 8.30pm every day and masses are held on Sundays and holidays at 11.30am.
Punta d'es Moscarter
If you're in the mood for a walk, head along to Punta d'es Moscarter. This area is home to a scenic coastal trail which stretches on for a few kilometres. Although there isn't anything out of the ordinary to see along this walk, you will get to admire the ocean with the small fishing boats bobbing up and down, the natural flora which grows close to the sea and the tall cliffs which seem to rise out of the ocean. A perfect way to wind down and soak up some sunshine, this walk is a must if you're in need of some rest and relaxation.
See a side of Ibiza that most tourists never get to see by signing up for a Cave Cruise. This excursion takes place each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday onboard a boat which takes you to one of the most famous caves in Ibiza Ca Marca. Onboard this trip you'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the cave where you'll get to enjoy a guided tour. The cave is full of all sorts of fascinating things, like stalactites, fossils and even a waterfall, making it a great day out for adults and children alike.
Pick up some unique gifts for friends and family back home by stopping by the craft market in San Jamie, Santa Eulalia. This local market is full of artisans who make all of their items by hand, so you know that no two pieces will ever be the same. Here you'll find jewellery, artwork, clothing and woodcrafts to choose from, as well as many other items which are sure to attract your attention. If you have a couple of minutes to spare you can even get your portrait painted by one of the artists who work here.
The Hippee markets are also great to visit, they're open all year round. If you'd like to pick up presents for friends or treat yourself this is the best place to do it.
