March Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Hua Hin in March

March is officially part of the hot season in Thailand, marking the beginning of a highly populated summer season in Hua Hin.

Temperature

The average temperature spikes up to 29°C (83°F), the first of the heatwaves coming to the peninsula during this period. The nights are still warm and comfortable, although the low average temperature is slightly higher than in February, measuring up to 24°C. The hottest days measure around 33°C, so we certainly recommend that you do not skimp on the water and make sure that your accommodation comes fitted with air conditioning giving the generally hot climate, though, chances are you won't find a hotel that doesn't have air conditioning.

Sunshine Hours

The days get increasingly long, with up to 10 hours of glorious sunshine, and 77% chances of sunny days throughout the month, which is an absolute delight for any vacationer intent on making Hua Hin their main destination. We strongly recommend that you pack plenty of SPF protection, as the sun does tend to do damage if your skin is recklessly exposed.

Rainfall

There's barely any rainfall to worry about in March, with up to 20mm on average and barely 7% chances of rainy days, spread over a total of 3 days.

Humidity

Humidity is low for this particular area still, at 75% on average. The winds are gentle and conjure up mellow speeds of up to 2.5m/s, and most of the southern and south-eastern currents, warm and dry.

Wind

Chances of windy days are minimal, at just 1% on average, while the chances of clouds rise by just a smidge to 7%.

The Gulf waters are warm as well, with an average temperature of 29°C (84°F), and should you feel that the heat might become unpleasant, just take a dip in the sea and then come out to dry off. There's no better feeling than that!

Hua Hin Beaches for March

Thanks to the incredibly clean waters in-shore and the blissful absence of rowdy water scooters and jet skis, the beaches of Hua Hin are wonderful for all kinds of fun or relaxing activities. There are long and wide stretches of white sand all the way up and down the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand, with stunning natural beauty, lush frames of tropical jungle and endless blue waters.

Sam Roi Yot & Phu Noi

The Sam Roi Yot and Phu Noi beaches of the Pranburi district are perfect for this time of the year, as they are not overcrowded and offer much more than just sun, water and sand. They stretch around Dolphin Bay, for miles all the way down south close to Ram Island. You can get a boat here and tour the islands at dusk or at dawn, both perfect times to fully take in the splendour of this little corner of Thai paradise.

The coast road follows the beach and is shaded by tall sea pine trees, a great spot for bike rides. Mountain bikes can be rented from Hua Hin to better enjoy these parts of Sam Roi Yot. This is a very quiet area, generally recommended for relaxation and privacy rather than any kind of late night debauchery. The sea here is shallow for at least 100m and very calm, while there are plenty of hermit crabs and shells for the kids to play with.

Ram Island

You can even venture further south of Phu Noi, where four islands peak out from the azure waters the largest is the popular Ram Island, complete with a monkey colony, and accompanied by its littler sisters, the islands of Nom Sao, Rawan and its twin, Rawing.

Bars and Restaurants

Sweet Garden

There's a lovely little spot in the heart of Hua Hin, called Sweet Garden. It's one of the best places to visit if you're looking to get an accurate taste of Thailand. The cuisine encompasses more than Thai though, serving a delicious variety of international dishes, as well as yummy pub grub. This is a bar and a café so expect the best not only from the Mojitos, but also from the homemade brownies which complement their fine fruity coffee roast.

Orchids Restaurant

Since it's the month which generally celebrates Mother's Day and Women's Day all around the world, it's probably a good time to take the most important lady of your life for a pampering session of authentic Thai food at the splendid Orchids restaurant. While its pricing may be moderate, the food is absolutely out of this world!

Friendly Kitchen Thai Food

Another great option is Friendly Kitchen Thai Food its name pretty much sums up the whole deal about the place though: great authentic local dishes served by friendly and welcoming staff.

Johnny Walker's Sports and Music Bar

For a fun night out, we certainly recommend Johnny Walker's Sports and Music Bar, a local celebrity amongst the expats situated on Selakam Road. Expect an abundance of both bottled and locally brewed draught beers, as well as a rich selection of spirits and some excellent pub grub to match the wonderful atmosphere.

Things to do in Hua Hin in March

Cicada Market

You should certainly make your way down to Cicada Market in Cha-Am, one of the most popular spots around Hua Hin. It's all about art, handmade crafts and nothing but good times. Its open air concept brings together some of the province's biggest artistic talents, along with creative advocates of the concept of freedom of expression. This market also incorporates an art gallery, a wonderful beer garden and plenty of live music performances.

Sam Roi Yot National Park

The Sam Roi Yot National Park is an absolute must this season, as the weather is perfect and not hot enough to make staying out in the sun for too long uncomfortable. And you'll need plenty of time to take it all in. This is Pranburi's jewel and a superb national marine park, covered in mountains and wetlands riddled with an abundance of wildlife, a sight to behold and a unique experience to add to your holiday memories. This superb spot is just 60km south of Hua Hin.

Perfect Nails

And if you're done with exploring and adventure for the rest of your day, you might as well take some time out and visit the city of Hua Hin. The ladies can even stop by Perfect Nails, one of the city's best manicure salons. Surely you're aware of the generally high quality of Thai nail care practices, and this salon is a fine example as its professionals provide high end pampering for super friendly prices.

Events

March is also a time for festivities, as the Thais celebrate Macha Buch on 11 March Buddha's very first sermon to his disciples. This is a national holiday in Thailand and the monks adorn their temples accordingly.
