What's the weather like in Hua Hin in April

    Temperature

The temperatures go higher in April, setting the tone for what is truly a hot season in Thailand. The average is a bold 30°C (86°F) over the month, going slightly higher over the second and third week. The nights are quite hot as well, estimated to reach around 26°C. The hottest days of the month are bound to reach 34°C on average, so we do recommend as much water and shade as possible during this period – plus accommodation with air-conditioning!

    Sunshine Hours

The shines gloriously for up to 9 hours in the day, with 74% chance of sunny days altogether. We strongly advise that you pack plenty of SPF protection for your Thai holiday – while the sun and salty air breeze may facilitate a perfect natural tan, you don't want to risk overexposure. Chances of cloudy days barely reach 4% on average, so expect nothing but gorgeous blue skies and occasional wisps of white.

    Rainfall

There's barely any rainfall this month, its volume of 40mm amounting to a cumulated total of 3 days and only 6% chances of rainy days. We are positive that these 40mm of summer rain will be absolutely welcome during the hotter times, so we don't even think it's worth mentioning that you may need an umbrella. The natural showers are soft and cooling, and often the subject of music videos.

    Humidity

Humidity gains a few units and measures 77% on average, still dry and comfortable on the dew point.

    Wind

Wind speeds stay mellow at 2.5m/s on average, warm currents from the south and south-east. Chances of windy days are basically non-existent so expect a very still air out on the land. The sea is different, blessed with marine breezes and tepid underwater currents flowing from further south.

    Sea Temperature

The Gulf water temperature averages at 30°C (86°F), which is beyond perfect for splashing and swimming around, but if you're looking for cooler waters, April is a good time to start taking some of the diving tours around the island. The deeper the water, the cooler the feeling.

It encompasses both the Sai Noi and the Sai Yai beaches, quiet and relaxing havens for those looking to soak in the sun and splash around in beautiful clear waters. While the seabed is too sandy and soft for any quality snorkelling, you can certainly enjoy a swim out to deeper waters – caution is always advised nonetheless.

It's actually best known for its signature cocktail, the smooth and seductive Mai Tai. After all, if you're looking for the authentic taste, you might as well visit the source.

Things to do in Hua Hin in April

    Pranburi Park Reserve

While the weather is just so hot and perfect, it's actually a good time to go down the Pranburi River and even visit the Pranburi Park Reserve, two of Hua Hin's landmark nature spots. You can go on a long hike along the river, or you can simply organize a trip from the city, inclusive of river tours and a stop by the superb Sam Roi Yot National Park. The lands on both sides of the river offer splendid views with natural scenery, as well as peaceful farmlands and rural patches. You can even engage in a long walk through a mangrove forest close to the water.

    Street Tours

If Thai nature hasn't tired you out already, then you can certainly jump on one of the rickshaw taxis that can be found outside hotels and main tourist spots. For just pennies, you can take some slow but fun tours of the streets of Hua Hin, enough for you to fully absorb the colour and inviting smells of the city and its numerous street corner eateries.
