Half Moon Cay Weather May Averages, Bahamas
May is another warm month in Half Moon Cay, with average highs of 30°C (86°F) and average lows of 21°C (71°F).
It also continues the monthly increase in rainfall with an average of 106mm, a full 37mm more than April and almost double the precipitation levels of March.
It does however break the sea temperature trend, which for the first four months of the year averaged at 25°C (77°F) but in May increases to 27°C (80.6°F), which makes swimming and the ample water-based activities that much more enticing.
In fact, May has the third-highest average temperature for the sea, so don't shy away in the hope it will get much warmer.
May also enjoys as much sun as the peak summer months at an average of 10 hours per day.
Aside from the paradisiac atmosphere of the place, Half Moon Cay just has so many activities on offer that you'll most likely find yourself with not enough time rather than time to kill.
One of the most amazing things you can do is snorkelling, and it's especially special if you have a penchant for wildlife, beauty or seeing unusual things that you can't see at home. From coral to Barracuda and various other creatures, an extended trip to the oceanic world is a marvel in Half Moon Cay.
The water is predominately shallow, making it ideal for children and those who are either new to snorkelling or not entirely happy being in the water. As an activity that takes place just off the shore, even aquaphobes can enjoy this one.
