July Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Guardalavaca in July

If you are thinking about visiting Guardalavaca in July, then you definitely have the right idea. This is the peak of summer, with the hottest weather and the most appealing temperatures.

Rainfall

You can guarantee that you will be hot this month, but you might also get wet as the average rainfall for the month stands at 128mm. All of that comes down over around 11 days, so you could still get lucky and experience a dry holiday if the clouds line up just right!

Temperature

It's a toss-up between this month and June for the title of the hottest month, as temperatures stay around the same (and it's fairly similar in August and September, too). The average daily temperature is 27°C, which makes for some very nice long days by the beach. The lows only fall as far as 23°C but the highs can go up to 31°C and beyond, which is a great indicator that you are going to have a truly sun-kissed holiday. Make sure that you do keep an eye on the weather forecast to find out when the peak temperatures will be as well as keeping an eye out for the rain, as this will ensure that you are always ready for whatever the weather might throw at you.

Sunshine Hours

There are 11 hours of sunshine a day, which mean this is the longest part of the year and the time that allows you the most freedom to explore.

Sea Temperature

You might find it hard to convince yourself to get out of the sea, however: temperatures stay around an average of 29°C, which is just going to feel fantastic when you go for a swim. The sea is the same even on the other side of the island in Santiago de Cuba, so this is a great part of the world to come for consistently high temperatures.

Guardalavaca Hotels in July

The warm July weather will lead you to the beach, so you need to be near one. The Occidental Gran Playa Turquesa is right on the shore, offering 4-star accommodation in a stunning setting. You can also visit a nature park very close by if you want to go exploring, or drive to a few other nearby beaches. It offers all-inclusive options for travellers!

Then there is the Villa Islazul Mirador de Mayabe for a different option. It offers more basic rooms, but the pool is certainly still available and you can also get certain massage or spa treatments. It is decorated with hand-painted murals, and the bar has a thatched roof all quaint details that make you feel a world away from all your cares.

The Villa Cayo Saetia Hotel offers a truly unique experience. It is located on a small island in the water, a short drive or boat ride from the Guardalavaca shore. You can get here by boat or by bridge from the mainland, and you will find yourself in a beautiful nature reserve which is home to plenty of beautiful plants and animals. The wooden villas offer a comfortable base from where you can explore the reserve.

Guardalavaca Beaches for July

Guardalavaca Beach is close by to the resort, and several hotels actually open out directly onto it. Sea temperatures are normally around an average of 29°C, so you can be sure that this is a popular beach with all of their guests; however, it is divided into three sections, and at 1020 metres long, there is plenty of sand to go around.

The three sectors are split into that in front of the Hotel Club Amigo, that in front of the Brisas hotel, and the public beach. Here you will find plenty of local Cubans, who are very friendly and love to chat with tourists. Snorkelling and swimming are both acceptable here, though it is of course a little busier than some other nearby beaches. It's the most popular destination in the area, thanks to its size and natural beauty.

Bars and Restaurants

The Restaurant Bar Valencia is a great spot to eat in Holguin, where you can be sure of a clean environment, delicious food, and low prices. You can eat in the restaurant or out on the terrace. Particularly recommended menu items seem to be the sirloin and the pina colada.

The La Quinta de Montero serves a little bit of everything, from traditional Cuban dishes to pizza and international food. It is tucked out of sight in a little courtyard, where you can watch them grill your meat for you outdoors. It's a family-friendly place in a quiet part of the town.

You could easily miss Polinesio, a restaurant on top of a residential building. However, from here you can see the whole town below you while you eat, a really magical sight. The insider way of getting a table here is to buy a reservation from someone else, who will wait in line at 9am to get one of their sought-after tables. Visiting at night time to see all the lights is a strong recommendation.

Things to do in Guardalavaca in July

July is hot, so what's the best way to cool off? Go splashing around, of course! At the Acuario Cayo Naranjo, just 6km out of Guardalavaca, you will find an aquarium full of interesting and beautiful sea creatures. You can watch shows and go on boat rides, and it is most definitely a fun day out for the whole family.

Another great way to enjoy the weather is to go on a photo walk. Whether you find one to join that has been organised by a professional, or just start your own, a photo walk is an opportunity to seek out the most interesting photographs. Camera in hand, you wander around and take a look at local life and the views that it affords. It's perfect for putting together a printed photo book to remember your holiday by after you return home.
