    The summer months, in the Golf del Sur area of the south coast of Tenerife, arrive in June with the approaching solstice. The weather is predictable: warm days and nights, little rain, and gentle-trade winds, guaranteeing a vacationer with perfect conditions for golfing, hiking, or boating.

    Temperature

    Golf del Sur June weather remains almost unchanged from the previous month. The average temperature increases slightly to 24ºC (74ºF) with a average high at 26ºC (79ºF) and average low a nice 19ºC (66ºF).

    Humidity

    The dew point, a better measurement of comfort, is only a lighter higher from the previous month at 12.5ºC (54.5ºF) but the relative humidity actual decreases to 58%, considered comfortable. The record high temperature on June 1st was 25.5ºC (78ºF) in 2001 and record low was 16.6ºC (62ºF) in 2005.

    Rainfall

    There is usually only one day of rainfall in June, with an accumulation of just 1mm. The winds remain steady at the beginning of the month at about 12 mph may will begin to increase to 14 mph by the end.

    The Aparthotel Cordial Golf Plaza, in Gulf del Sur, is surrounded by terraces and gardens with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. The property boasts spa, gym and outdoor pool, which feature a pool table, racquetball, sauna, Turkish and steam bath, game room, and play ground.  It is next door to the Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur courses, and is only a quarter of a mile from the harbour of San Miquel de Abona. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and is just 15 minutes from the airport.

    Apartamentos Oro Blanco

    The Apartamentos Oro Blanco is a complex of 140 units with views of the Atlantic Ocean, and is located near the popular Troya beach, with-in walking distance of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. It features an outdoor pool with bar, hot tub, sauna, pool table, ping-pong, solarium, massages, bicycle rental, library and playground for families with children. It is two miles from a golf course, and next to the world famous Siam Water Park.

    Parque Verde

    The Parque Verde in Golf del Sur has full apartments and studios each with a private balcony overlooking the pool area of which there are three. The units have a kitchenette with stove, microwave, and coffee maker, plus a television with international channels. The property has a shaded barbecue area, tennis courts, restaurant, and a grocery story nearby. San Blas Marina is only a quarter of a mile away and the airport can be reached in ten minutes. The Parque Verde is owned by Italians, so many of the television shows are in their native tongue.

    Hotel Isabel

    The Hotel Isabel, in  Adaje, is a larger property, suitable for families with children. Hotel rooms all have balconies, while the bungalows have a terrace and garden. Each unit is equipped with a living and dining area, a kitchen and a television. There is a grocery store, playground, and two swimming pools on the premises, plus a tennis court, beauty salon, and fitness center. It is a ten minute walk to the beach, and Playa de las Americas is only one mile away.

    Los Cristianos Beach

    Los Cristianos beach, located in the Los Cristianos harbour in Arona, was one of the early destinations when tourists began traveling to the south coast of Tenerife. Close to the village, there are many restaurants and bars plus a lovely beach path that runs around the port to Las Vistas beach.

    Tito's, also in Los Abrigos, is easily missed by tourists but is a favorite of the local residents. Featuring fresh fish, prepared in a simple yet gourmet fashion, the restaurant has no menu: a diner selects their choices from the fish cabinet and instructs the chef on how they would like it prepared. There are good house wines, freshly baked bread, and delicious salads. Start with the calamari; try the sole, grouper, baby squid, octopus, or sardines. The sauces are delicate and the entrees are accompanied by Canarian potatoes.

    Gullivers Grillhouse

    Gullivers Grillhouse, in San Blas, opened in 1999 with a private dinner of Beef Wellington and is still run by the same owners and management team today. It boasts a quaint and old-fashioned décor, a covered terrace for outside dining, and an open kitchen where diners can view the action of the chefs.

    The dining experience begins with garlic bread and main courses include fish and chips with mush peas, minted lamb burger and penne pasta and hamburgers for the little ones who eat free.

    Things to do in Golf del Sur in June

    Amarilla Golf

    Amarilla Golf, with its stunning views of the Marina San Miquel and the Atlantic ocean is a 18 hole, par 72 two course that takes you down to the sea, then back up a hill through a residential neighbourhood. The fairways are wide, put the course provides challenges including hills and one par three whole requiring an accurate shot across a stretch of the sea to a small green. There is also a small nine whole pitch and putt practice course on the property.

    Must Cat Catamaran

    Must Cat Catamaran leaves from Las Galietas Harbour in the small village of Las Gailetas for a sailing excursion through the beautiful waters of Tenerife as you view the picturesque shores. Perhaps you will see the whales and dolphins, or possibly the rare giant turtles that inhabit the Canary Islands. Snacks and drinks are served and stops are made for swimming and snorkeling. Must Cat Tenerife sails everyday except Saturday and features a sunset sail on Wednesdays and Sundays that include a barbecue and drinks.

    The Monkey Park

    The Monkey Park in Llana Azul Arona is a great experience for children of all ages where they can feed the large collection of monkeys and iguanas. Located between Los Cristianos and Play de las Americas, this tiny zoo also displays turtles, guinea pigs, a wide selection of birds and reptiles and even Cuban crocodiles. Monkeys roam freely and the lemurs can be fed and petted.
