July, along with August, is the hottest month of the year in FaroPortugal and a great time to visit.

The average temperature for July is a warm 24°C (74°F). The average highs can reach 28°C (82°F), which are most likely from July 5th on. Average lows reach 19°C (66°F), which are seen from the start of the month until July 10th. July sees gradually rising daily highs with only one day in ten going above (91°F) or below (75°F). Daily low temperatures go below (60°F) or above (73°F) only one in ten days.

Rain

The average rainfall in July stays consistent with that of June with only 10mm. This is the lowest average rainfall of the year which also occurs in August and September. Faro Beach for July

Located near the resort of Tavira, the blue flag beach of Praia do Barril is one of the more quiet beaches available during the high season. There are two options to get to the beach. The first being by foot crossing the Ria Formosa's footbridge and continuing to the beach. The second way is to make your way to Pedras d'el Rei Nature Sports & Beach Resort and take the tourist train which goes across the Ria Formosa letting you off near the beach. The beach has a small museum, Museu da Pesca do Atum that is dedicated to the now gone Tuna fishing industry. Although family friendly, keep in mind there is a nudist area on the western side of Barril, which is one of the few legal naturist beaches in Algarve.

Bars and Restaurants 

If you are looking for a budget friendly place that uses the freshest ingredients, head to Baixa Hamburgueria Faro. Located in central Faro, everything here is homemade from the chips to the burgers. The restaurant is child friendly with the option to sit outside in their café style seating. There are vegetarian friendly options, as well as chicken breast and fresh cod burgers. There is also a dessert menu that changes daily and has included a delicious spicy chocolate mousse.

For those celebrating a special occasion or wanting a romantic vibe check out Entra. Located in central Faro, this Portuguese restaurant has excellent food including tuna pate on toast, stuffed mushroom, and interesting goat cheese items such as fried goat cheese with egg and honey. The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff is top class.

Things to do in Faro in July 

One attraction not to miss is Teatro Lethes. Located in central Faro, this theatre was originally built in 1845 and served as a college. It was later refurbished into the remarkable theatre that is standing today. If there is a performance scheduled, be sure to check it out. If not, you can still see the awe inspiring classic design by stopping by as it is open most evenings.

Adrenaline junkies should earmark Rooster Algarve Quad Tours. Located in Loule, 20 minutes from Faro airport, ATV tours are offered for all levels of rider. There are short quad tours, 1 day quad tours, and 2-3 day quad tours. You will take the ATV through the Algarve countryside and see very diverse and scenic terrain. Prices start at 75 for a 2 hour tour and includes insurance, petrol, equipment & full protective clothing, and training & safety instruction.
