November Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

If you want to escape the wet and gloomy autumn weather back home, there is hardly a better place than the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago located off the northwestern coast of Africa. Costa del Silencio is a resort located on the southeast coast of Tenerife, which is one of the island group's main islands. Although this might be one of the wettest months of year, it is still exceptionally drynd sunny and warm as wellhen compared with basically all other places in Europe.

Costa del Silencio receives 26mm of rainfall in November, which is spread out across 5 days with precipitation. This makes it, in fact, the second wettest month of the entire year in Tenerife, second only after December. However, these numbers are not high by any means. You can turn them around and say that there are no fewer than 25 completely dry days in November, too.

November has 6 hours of sunshine per day on average, comparable to December and January. This is a rather large number, considering that this is late autumn.

November is still remarkably warmhe overall average temperature is 21°C. At night, the mercury doesn't fall lower than 18°C on average. In the afternoon, it climbs to about 24°C, which is absolutely delightful. Even the sea water is quite comfortable still, averaging 22°C.

Where to Stay

Hovima La Pinta is a superb beachfront resort boasting four stars in Adeje. Its exceptionally great location makes this one of the most popular resorts in town. It lies literally right next to a sandy beach and features a heated swimming pool, a children's pool, a mini-disco, a poolside bar, a games and TV room, free Wi-Fi throughout the resort and a restaurant.

Also in Adeje, you can stay at the absolutely amazing Hotel Fanabe Costa Sur. It lies about 500 metres from the beach and a stone's throw from the seafront promenade. This four-star resort has a lot to offer, not in the least a wide range of dining venues. There is the buffet restaurant to have breakfast, the poolside snack bar to have lunch, the hall bar-cafeteria for afternoon tea or coffee, and the Drago disco for evening drinks.

Another excellent place to stay in November is Hotel Troya Tenerife, a well-rated and popular hotel situated no further than 50 metres from the beach. It offers all-inclusive accommodation and boasts beautiful gardens, large pools, a bar and a restaurant, Wi-Fi, and a variety of leisure and sports activities.

Things to Do

One of Tenerife's major natural attractions is Cueva del Viento, or Cave of the Wind in English. It is, however, not exactly located around Costa del Silencio, but makes for a nice road trip destination in November. This huge cave is actually a lava tubehe largest in the European Union and the fifth largest in the entire world, after four lava tubes in Hawaii. Tourists can visit this remarkable place on guided tours.

Another popular natural attraction is Pico Viejo, the second tallest mountain in Tenerife, rising up 3135 metres. This volcano last erupted in 1798 and lies within Teide National Park. It is a rather strenuous hike to the topore than 1000 vertical metresut the rewards are immense. The trail runs over former lava flows and ends at the rim of the crater.

Hit the Beach

With 6 hours of daily sunshine and an ocean that is 22°C warm, swimming is still very much possible in November. If you're looking for a beach, you won't find one in Costa del Silencio. Luckily, however, there are numerous excellent beaches in nearby towns. One such recommended beach is Playa la Pinta in Puerto Colon, Costa Adeje. This gorgeous stretch of bright sand is backed by a fun promenade lined with shops, eateries, bars and cafés. The water is generally calm, making it a great place for kids.

Eating and Drinking Out

Lovers of Italian food will certainly want to include a visit to Mamma Roma in their itinerary. This stylish eating establishment in Golf del Sur is renowned for its excellent Italian cuisine and international classics. Go there for t-bone steaks, seafood pastas, tiramisu or amazing fish dishes.

In the fishing village of Los Abrigos, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean, the harbour and the coastline while sampling superb food at Restaurante Placeres. Its menu features everything from seafood lasagna to beef tenderloin and from Iberian pork to lobster risotto.

La Langostera Restaurante, also in Los Abrigos, serves truly exquisite fish and seafood dishes. It offers its guests the chance to pick live seafood from its very own nurseries, while the fish is bought daily from local fishermen. Overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean, this is arguably one of the top seafood restaurants in southern Tenerife.
