    Temperatures are steadily rising, same goes for the amount of daily sunshine. As Costa Adeje is the sunniest coast on Tenerife, it's the perfect holiday destination if you have one thing on your mind: lying on the beach.

    At this time of year, the average temperature is 20°C, with highs of 23°C and lows of 16°C. There's very little rain with just 11mm of average rainfall for the whole month. The average sea temperature is an inviting 20°C and you can expect to soak up around 11 hours of sunshine each day.

    Found in Torviscas Bajo, Unique is one of the best places to go for tapas. This small open-air restaurant offers a number of menus available throughout the day, including a ciabatta and sandwiches menu, Dutch snack menu and stone grill menu. The tapas list provides you with plenty to choose from, including mixed olives, spicy chicken, meatballs in tomato sauce, Canarian sausages and croquettes, all for reasonable prices.

    Rosso Sul Mare

    Open from 10.30am until midnight, Rosso Sul Mare in La Caleta offers a fantastic seafront setting, a stylish atmosphere and an extensive menu, with something for everyone. Although the food is predominantly Italian-influenced, there are many other contemporary European dishes on offer, including meat-, fish- and rice-based dishes, as well as plenty of salads, pastas and pizzas. If you've left room for dessert, you can choose from a number of sweets, such as ice cream, tiramisu, pannacotta and a variety of sorbets.

    Ye Olde Ocean

    If you like the sound of being the star of the night, pop into Ye Olde Ocean where you can have a go on the karaoke. Found on the seafront at Fañabé, this fun pub is known throughout the island for its lively entertainment. There are singing sessions held every night and with such a large number of songs to choose from, you're bound to find the perfect tune to suit your voice.

    Golf Las Americas

    Thanks to the fantastic climate, golf is a sport that is popular throughout the year in Costa Adeje and you can tee off at any time. Found in the centre of Playa de Las Americas, Golf Las Americas is considered to be one of the very best courses in Tenerife. The 18-hole par-72 championship course covers more than 6,000m and offers well-maintained greens dotted with rivers and lakes, creating an interesting game for everyone. As well as the course, Golf Las Americas offers a wealth of onsite amenities, including pro shop, changing room, club rental and storage, driving range, putting green and chipping green. For those of you who aren't familiar with the sport, there is also an affordable golf academy where first timers and novices can learn all the skills they'll need to become a pro golfer.

    H10 Gran Tinerfe

    Dates for the diary

    The Fiestas de la Cruz, or the Holy Cross, takes place every year on May 3rd. During this colourful 300-year-old tradition churches, chapels and crosses are decorated with stunning flower arrangements. The main celebration takes place in Los Realejos, however, many towns and cities across the island take part, so keep your eyes peeled or why not plan a day trip?
