October Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the Weather Like in Copenhagen in October

October can be a beautiful time of the year to visit Copenhagen as the main crowds have subsided, but do be sure to bring a heavy coat and sweater in order to guard against the cold winds coming in off the Baltic Sea. Additionally, while good deals are in place for both hotels and flights, some of the sites and restaurants begin to close down in preparation for the coming winter months. As a result, be sure to check various websites in order to make sure that the places you want to see are indeed open for the time being.

Temperature

Temperatures continue their steady fall to the coldest numbers of the year with an average daily reading of only 10°C (50°F). Average afternoon highs are much colder than what they were during the previous month with temperatures only climbing to 12°C (54°F). While temperatures early in the morning are still averaging numbers well above freezing, this is the last month that can safely be said. Instead, during this time of the year, mornings will start out with an overnight reading of 7°C (45°F).

Rain and Average Sunshine Hours

Visitors will also have to make sure that they are properly packed in order to ward off the cold rain. On average, the region receives measurable rainfall over a period of 19 days throughout the month. As a result, there are many more wet days than dry ones and visitors will need to bring an umbrella or rain jacket with them. Overall, the region receives an average of 50mm of precipitation. Additionally, there is much less sun during this time of the year with only an average of 8 hours of sunshine per day.

Average Sea Temperature

Once again, the waters around the region have returned to conditions that are too cold to enjoy. Combined with the amount of rain the region receives during this time of the year, it is a good idea to plan outings on dry land rather than the beach. Throughout the month, the waters will only average 13°C (55°F).
