What's the Weather like in Cayo Coco in October

Although travelling to Cayo Coco can be wonderful at any time of year (even during rainy season), October is particularly revered for it is still included in the low-season specials whilst being the very last month of the wet season.  The hot temperatures and heavy rain will begin to recede considerably, but they're not altogether gone just yet.

The average day time temperature in October is 27°C, with highs of 31°C prevalent in the first two weeks of the month. This is the first month since June when you'll feel a definite change in temps and conditions the month progresses. By the end of October, the highs are much more likely to not go over the high 20s. Night-time lows of 22°C at night at quite consistent, however, all month long.

On a weird twist of conditions, do note that although October is indeed the last month of the rainy season, it also sees the heaviest rainfall of the whole year. On average, Cayo Coco sees 148mm of rainfall over 13 days, although storms tend to be as short as they are intense. An average of 7 hours of sunshine per day and sea temps of 29°C will make swimming and snorkelling still possible this month.

Things to do in Cayo Coco in October

Although October is the wettest month of the year, it does not mean that you won't have a chance to indulge in a scuba diving trip, by far the most popular activity in this part of the world. Cayo Coco is home to a revered barrier reef and it is here that you'll fine at least four major dive sites. La Jaula, by far the deepest site of all, lies at a depth at 30 metres and is home to a myriad of incredible sea life, including nurse and reef sharks, as well as eagle rays and sting rays. You can ask your resort desk to organise these excursions for you, as all Cayo Coco's diving trips are run by the same two diving centres.
