Though the menu can be quite pricey, the cuisine is delicious with courteous staff and exquisite attention to detail. It's also ideal for children to eat here with small portion sizes available for them.

    If you are looking to warm up after a brisk day exploring the area then have a cocktail or two at the Bar Hervana. This casual, local hangout is located on Estrada do Farol and was created by two Brits that couldn't tear themselves away from the beautiful landscape of Carvoeiro. Though there are no TV's, karaoke or other gimmicks, you can expect reasonably priced drinks in a relaxing and vibrant atmosphere. It's a wonderful way to unwind while on your holiday and as its open until late, you can really enjoy an evening out here before heading back to your hotel.

    Things to do in Carvoeiro in January

    There are lots of attractions for those visiting the resort. Carvoeiro is home to three museums, including the Portimao Museum. Located on the riverside, this establishment is dedicated to the canning industry in the Algarve. If you want to explore more about the history of the Algarve then this is the place to go. There are small exhibits about the boat industry as well as artefacts and pictures. Despite only being a small building, the museum is an interesting place to visit. There are various opening times throughout the year but it's closed on Mondays.
