May Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the Weather like in Cadiz in May

Temperature

By the time May rolls around, spring is in full force in Cadiz. Temperatures continue to rise as the daily average reaches 19°C. Expect to see highs as high as 22°C, and lows only as low as 16°C. It's an excellent time of year to soak up the sun while you explore all the history and beauty the city has to offer.

Rainfall

Most travellers should be happy to know, when you visit the city at this time of year, you will have only a minor chance of rain. With 27mm of precipitation divided between 3 days, you can confidently plan for near-constant sunny skies. Levels of precipitation this month are just about identical with the annual average for September, when levels rise again after a few months of little to no rainfall.

Average Sea Temperature

If the beach is your main attraction, the end of summer may be a preferable time for a visit; it offers not only higher average temperatures, but also the year's highest ocean temperature (23°C) making it ideal for long days in the water.

Average Sunshine Hours

But if sunshine is your happiness, May offers 12 hours of daily sunlight, compared with 10 hours in the month of September.

Majorca, another popular resort destination over off Spain's eastern coast, is receiving just as much sunshine. Be prepared, though, if you choose a Mediterranean island holiday you'll be in for a slightly increased chance of rain with 36mm of rainfall for the month distributed amongst four days. The island's highest temperature reaches 23°C before the month's end, higher than Cadiz is likely to experience, but the island's average temperature, 18°C, falls just below the port city's average.

May ranks as the 6th warmest month of the year (or 7th coldest, depending on how you view things) making it the most moderate time of year for a visit.
