    Brownes Beach is situated just outside of Bridgetown and provides a long shoreline of white sand, this is one of the biggest beaches on the island. The turquoise waters are calm and ideal for scuba diving, swimming and snorkelling. This beach has no restrooms, but there are plenty of local restaurants and resorts that surround the beach to use. The beach has shipwrecks nearby off the coast and is in pristine condition.

    Eating & Drinking Out

    The Lone Star is still one of the hippest restaurants on the island and its location near the sea is perfect. The menu is extensive with Caribbean, Indian, Asian and European cuisine to tempt the taste buds for the thronging crowds at this busy place.

    Oistins Fish Fry is a fishing village in the south of the island and on a Friday night, its Fish Fry night at the village fish market. Picnic tables with seated tourists and locals, frying cabins, colourful stalls and the atmosphere of a street party. Grilled to order fish, local arts and handicrafts make this a Friday night to savour. Definitely one to try!

    Tapas restaurant and bar has a buzzy feel to it, with tourists and locals frequenting the location along the south coast boardwalk. The restaurant is on two levels, upstairs for stunning views and the ground level is next to the beach. Fine dining at reasonable prices at a location that you can only dream of.

    Waterfront Cafe overlooks the Careenage in Bridgetown harbour, this place is café/bistro type of affair that is one of best places on the island to stop for lunch. There is a bar area and some cool local art displayed around the place. In the evening you will find local jazz bands and a laid back vibe so enjoy the night.

    Things to Do

    Sandy Lane Golf Course is a luxury golf course and resort in Barbados that provides some of the finest golf on the island. The Country Club, The Old Nine and the Green Monkey are the three courses to try. The course offers stunning and spectacular natural scenery of Barbados' beautiful coastline.

    Jammin Cats catamaran cruises operate a 63feet long craft and cruise around the islands crystal waters. The cruises provide tasty buffet meals and an extensive range of drinks from the bar. The company have two cruise options, a Sun Blast Cruise for daytime sun worshippers and a Twilight Cruise for an evening romantic dinner cruise.

    The neo-gothic Parliament buildings were constructed in 1871 and are situated near National Heroes Square. The clock tower on the west side contains buildings for public offices and the east side has the Senate, plus the House of Assembly. The buildings also feature a museum.

    The Dolphin Fountain in Heroes Square honours when piped water was first introduced to Barbados in 1865. The fountain is a bleach white colour with a large pool with 3 smaller pools rising from the larger pool and adorned with Dolphins, well worth a photo.

    Needhams Point Lighthouse built in 1855 is second oldest lighthouse on Barbados and once protected ships around the south coast of the island, today it is part of Hilton Barbados Resort and its grounds.
