    Blackpool Weather for September 2019

The month of September sees the tourists filter out of Blackpool. The holiday season comes to an end as students go back to school. However, holiday-seekers may want to tour the seaside resort this month as most tourist attractions will still be open and they won't be as crowded as they were in July and August.

The month experiences fairly warm weather, at least by the United Kingdom's standards. You will see an average temperature of 14°C, with average high temperatures climbing to 17°C and average low temperatures of 11°C. It's certainly still warm enough to walk around comfortably, though you may want to keep a jumper or coat on hand just in case those chilly days do come around.

The sea is also still warm and has an average temperature of 16°C. There's plenty of time to enjoy paddling, swimming, or trying your hand at water sports if you head down to the beach. The good news is that with less children and teenagers around, you might get a slice of the sand to yourself. It will still be busy later in the day and on weekends.

Although this area experiences a maritime climate and receives rainfall throughout the year, we are now reaching the beginning of a rainier period. The month receives an average precipitation of 10mm, the lowest amount of the year, but this is the proverbial calm before the storm of October. There is an average of 16 days with rainfall, so half the month will see rain. This does however mean that the other half will be dry. If you head down the coast a little to Southport, you will see much more rain, so this is a great place to stay where you can get the maximum opportunities to enjoy dry weather most days.

    Where to Stay

If you are looking for a place to stay in September, try the Ruskin Hotel. This is a traditional hotel aimed at couples, with breakfast provided just 200 yards from the Central Pier. Live entertainment is provided all year round, and the restaurant also serves dinner. Sea views make the stay complete. Look out for special offers to get a good deal on your stay.

You could also try the Lyndene Hotel. It is one of the largest family run hotels in the area, and is situated between the Central and South Piers. You can see entertainment there every night, from live singers to comedians, as well as games such as Wii bowling and bingo. There is also free Wi-Fi, and Sky Sports and BT Sports channels so that you can watch any events that occur during your stay.

Then there's the Village Hotel Blackpool, which aims to provide a modern, smart, and comfortable approach. It offers a gym for those who want to keep fit, a restaurant for those who don't, and a bar for relaxation. If you are a golfer, there's even better news: an 18 hole championship golf course is connected to the hotel.

    Hit the Beach

There are three parts to the Blackpool Beach: North, South, and Central. The North Beach has a lot to offer, with shops, restaurants, and food nearby. You can find each section of the beach separated by the piers, which extend out into the water and give a defined limit to the different areas.

No dogs are allowed on the beach, but there is a lifeguard service on constant duty to watch out for anyone who has difficulty in the water. Traditional attractions like donkey rides are also available here if you want to try them out. You will also be able to enjoy the average sea temperature of 16°C, which is perfect for wading or swimming.

    Restaurants and Nightlife

If you want contemporary food, head to the Beach House Bistro & Bar. With beautiful plates served in the most modern of styles, it has a fantastic location on the beach with a tiered patio for outdoor dining. It is stylish and unique, with live entertainment on offer to create a great atmosphere. You won't find anywhere else this fresh and chic.

The Curry Queen Restaurant is the place to go for – you guessed it – a great curry. You can eat in or get a takeaway, and enjoy plenty of special offers. The curries span a range of different styles, and you will find plenty of classics such as various masalas, makhanis, and different methods of cooking lamb and chicken.

Jade Delight takes us to another part of Asia, with a Chinese buffet. Here you can be sure to find lots of great dishes on offer in an all-you-can-eat style, such as prawn toast, sweet and sour sauce, rice, noodles, and so on. The buffet tables are laid out with different options so that you can mix and match your favourite parts of this cuisine.

    Things to Do

Those with a competitive spirit will love FormulaKart. Not only is this a chance to try go-karting, but the karts can reach speeds of 60mph, allowing you to get the most out of the 750m track. It's close by the Blackpool Tower and the North Promenade, so it's easy to get to if you fancy a day of racing.

If you prefer a slower sport, head for Blackpool Cricket Ground. It's not just a place to spend the weekend watching games, but also a place to grab a bite to eat and a refreshing drink. You will even find a function room here which showcases sports events on high definition TV screens whenever they are on.

Or why not enjoy the September sunshine with a stroll through Stanley Park? Not only is it a picturesque place to visit, but it has a lot to offer. There are tennis courts, water sports, a putting green, a golf course, a BMX track, a skate park, netball courts, an adventure play area for kids, an athletics arena, and a sports centre complete with a climbing wall and cycle hire.
