    What's the weather like in Bermuda in January?


    January can be cold in Bermuda, but still warmer than many European destinations such as Lisbon, Portugal, with average day time temperatures here at around 19°C. This is made up of average high and low temperatures of between 17°C overnight and a mild 21°C during the day. This is a pleasant time of year to visit for those who are looking to explore the island without the uncomfortable heat and humidity, as days are often mild and ideal for outdoor activities. On the coldest recorded January day the temperature dropped to a low of 8°C while the warmest temperature on record in this month was a lovely 25°C.

    Located in Hamilton city and ideal for families or couples is the Little Venice Italian restaurant. The staff are friendly and efficient and the venue has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. This is a favourite with locals as well as tourists and the Italian cuisine is authentic and delicious. There are also Bermudian options on the menu and a great selection of fish and seafood dishes with fantastic seafood chowder. This is a lovely choice for warming up on cooler January evenings.

    The Bermuda Festival

    The Bermuda Festival runs from January to March each year and features talented performers from around the world. Acts include singers and bands, orchestras, theatre performances, dance and many other fantastic artists to gather here to entertain and amaze locals and tourists.

    Bermuda National Trust Museum

    When the weather is cooler in January, it is a good time to head to the Bermuda National Trust museum at St Georges. This museum is housed in the Globe Hotel, one of the oldest stone buildings in Bermuda, dating back to around 1700. The permanent exhibit upstairs features information about Bermuda and the American Civil War (1861-1865) and the building was the site of the offices of the Confederate agent Major Norman Walker during that period. A video presentation shows the story of Bermuda in this period with paintings and documents also on display.
