Averages for Zante in February

February is quite cold, with high levels of humidity in Zante and there are not many tourists around during this period.

Most of the major hotels and restaurants are closed during this month as well, so if you decide to travel to Zante in February, you may have some trouble finding somewhere to stay.

Only about 15% of the hotels are still running in this month. Most of the bars and clubs also remain shut due to fewer tourists on the island.

The average temperatures generally reach highs of around 14°C (58°F) and can drop to lows of 8°C (46°F). 

The area usually enjoys on average 5 hours of sunshine per day throughout the month.

The sea is quite cold as well, so you won't be able to enjoy a swim. The average temperature of the sea during February is 15°C (59°F).

There is also some expectation of rain during February, with the average rainfall expected 113 mm over 11 days across the month. 

If you are travelling to Zante to enjoy the night life and party atmosphere that tourists are attracted to year after year, February is not the best time for you to plan your holiday here. 

The lively, bustling atmosphere won't get underway until later in the month, when the major tourist attractions are once again open and the weather is warmer.

However if you are in Zante in February then you can check out the 2 Week Carnival called Apokiras, which is celebrated all over Greece. You can expect to see and experience local culture and traditions, colourful costumes and, of course, parades which go around the towns dancing and singing.
