Weather : I travelled to Venice at the beginning of April 2009 and the climate was perfect.
Apparently it had been raining the week before we arrived, however we did not see one drop.
Very warm sunny days and mild nights.

Holiday : Great!
Definitely a vacation for couples but what a beautiful place!
San Marco Piazza is great! Looks like something off the movies.
The canals are all so beautiful and lit up at night.
Great Food!
Although I'm sure the place still gets very crowded and busy during the peak of summer there not much in the way of nightlife.
April was a great time to visit as the climate was mild and the crowds were low.

Places Recommended : Definitely recommend venturing out to some of the nearby islands.
We stayed in a beautiful house on the Guidecca Island - true Venetian style.
Lido beach - about a 20 min boat ride from San Marco Piazza.
And of course all the famous cathedrals and museums.
