The climate in Taba Heights is arid and desert, though the amount of money that has been invested in the world famous golf courses and deep blue swimming pools, you will forget that you are in a desert community. Rainfall across the year is extremely scarce, with it often going months and months on end without a drop of rain.

With a desert climate comes hot days and cold nights. In the peak of summer, the months of June to September, the daily high is, on average, 34 ºC to 36 ºC, with July and August being the hottest months. It is definitely not uncommon to see temperatures rise over 40 ºC, in the height of summer you will experience many days on end that see the thermometer record over 40 ºC- so taking cover in your hotel swimming pool and air conditioned comfort is definitely what you’ll find yourself doing. Relief does come in the form of coastal breezes and by sundown the mercury drops slightly and average minimums of 27 ºC are experienced. Swimming in the evenings in the amazing sapphire blue sea is definitely a recommended activity.

Winters bring cooler temperatures, though the average maximum in the coldest month of December is a still pleasant 24 ºC, minimums fall to about 12 ºC or 13 ºC so as you can imagine Taba Heights is a perfect winter get away. When northern Europe are suffering through blistering sub zero temperatures, Taba Heights is basking in pleasant days that are often warmer than most summers days in London.

The best time to visit is probably any time outside of the summer, as sweating hot temperatures and non-existent rainfall means that there is very little relief from the day’s sun. Make sure you look into accommodation before arriving, because while the town is increasing in popularity it is still fairly fresh off the boat so there isn’t a huge amount of accommodation and the hotels book up fast.

Location Information

Taba Heights is a remarkable vacation spot that lies in the beautiful Sinai Peninsula region, set against a backdrop of deep mountains, wild desert and crystal blue waters. As travelers from the west are widening their horizons of where they are traveling to, Taba Heights is becoming an increasingly popular destination. The town only really came into existence at the beginning of the 21st century when it was built from scratch by a wealthy hotel group. It sits upon the beautiful Gulf Aqaba with the dramatic mountains of the Sinai Peninsula lying in its background- the scenery is unique and unlike any where else in the world. The town is a resort, plain and simple- made up of many amazing 5 star hotels and luxury spas, it lies not far from the town of Taba which is the location of Egypt’s busiest border crossing with Israel, so it is also a popular weekend getaway for the Israelis.

In Taba Heights there are many things to keep you busy- it is a resort town with no expense spared on luxury. If spas, massages and 5 star hotels are not your thing then you can do a few rounds on the vast golf courses or learn to dive- as Taba Heights is a popular diving spot for those who are just beginning and for the more experienced divers as the Red Sea is a world renowned diving area. Unfortunately as the town is basically brand new it has yet to build up a collection of good nightlife, however the hotels each have their own bars so you can definitely find something to do if you hop between the different hotel bars.
