Avoriaz is quite unlike most ski resorts - it at 1800 for a start, plus it is totally no vehicles apart from skiing, pony and cart and skidoo etc. We actually stayed a bit lower in Les Podrians, but the cable car to the top was running until midnight!
Due to high winds some of the lifts didn't open, but generally easy to get about and loads of great skiing to be done. The Stash in Les Linderes is well worth a visit even if you're not into jumps you can all laughy yourselves silly coming down the big bumps in fresh powder!!! Plenty for all abilities, even a world cup down hill black run for the brave.

Good resort, good runs with great snow that week. Good boarding parks. Food and drink a little expensive, but all french resorts seem to be.
Would go back

For the snowboarder who wants to progress in the freestyle side of things, avoriaz has the lot, access to three snow parks and a range of fun runs over a vast area. i stayed in morzine but rode in avoriaz which is quickly accessible. morzine is a great town and have fantastic resturants and bars selling the delicious and moorish Mutiz.mm.
