Small, quiet resort with no cars. It has a decent skiing area on its own, but when combined with Wengen and Grindelwald (with a SportPass) its a very large area.
Lots of families are at this resort, it is very easy to get around and the locals are very friendly.
The Schilthorn restaurant is stunning and worth a visit for skiiers and non-skiiers alike. It is the highest point on the Murren slopes and was the interior and exterior location for the baddies Alpine base in James Bond film - 'On Her Majestys Secret Service'.
The only caveat is for those who wish to carry on the days fun into the night...the bars and nightlife are a little limited! All the hotels have bars and there are a few standalone bars (only 3/4!). There are only 2 places for late night dancing, the Tachi Bar (at the Hotel Eiger) and the Bleumi Cheller (not sure about spelling!) underneath the Blumental Hotel. Both are frequented by lots of Murrens younger visitors.
Due its small size, you are never more than a few mins walk to one of the lifts to get you up the slopes in the morning.
Great resort, but small and lacking apres ski fun!
