The ski area is superb, but the various areas have to be reached by bus or train.
Most hotels are in the centre of town, while the gondola for the local area is on the outskirts of the town.
But once up there, you have around 160Km of piste locally, plus access (by free bus/train) to Mayrhofen, Kaltenbach, Finkenberg, etc.
