Side in Turkey is a unique resort that combines the history of the once ancient town with the beaches and tourist facilities of the now bustling seaside resort.

Though still summer in Side in September, the peak temperatures enjoyed in July and August are beginning to drop by this month, providing a break from the sweltering heat.

It remains warm and sunny though and a beach holiday at this time of the year is still entirely possible.

Side has two main beaches, East Beach and West Beach. Both are popular with tourists but the latter is a favourite with families as the shallow waters are safe for children to swim in.

Away from the coast, Turkey is developing a reputation for being one of the premier golf resorts in Europe, with a number of premiership courses that will allow both professional and novice golfers the chance to enjoy a round.
