Averages for Side in May
By May, the weather has vastly improved. With the summer arriving in force in June, May sees temperatures soar as the wet weather dramatically decreases.
The Mediterranean climate can still be unpredictable at this time of the year and it’s not uncommon to see unseasonably hot or cool days at this time of the year.
However, for the most part the weather will be warm and sunny and ideal for a holiday- much better than the UK spring weather tends to be.
The weather may not be warm enough for a beach holiday yet, but it is an ideal time to visit the historic town if you’re interested in a cultural trip with plenty of sightseeing. In May, you’ll be able to avoid both the sweltering heat of summer and the crowds of tourists it tends to attract.
Manavgat Waterfall is well worth a visit. As well as the stunning natural attraction, there are tea rooms located at the base of the falls too.
Commemoration of Ataturk (Youth and Sports Day) is held on the 19th of May. The event is mainly aimed at children and named after Turkey’s first president Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The day has various sports events for children to compete in and enjoy.
Conny’s Hotel is a popular place to stay in Side. The hotel has an excellent location, in the centre of Side and close to the beaches. It also has a number of facilities, including a traditional Turkish hammam.
