Weather : Warm and sunny - comfortable weather to go out and about in the day and sleep at night.
We had no rain during our stay.

Holiday : We stayed on the campsite on the island in the middle of the Loire.
That was a good campsite with an easy walk into the town. There are lovely drives along both banks of the Loire and the area was not overcrowded in June.
Scenery is beautiful, food is excellent and lots of wine cellars to visit.
Good choice of restaurants.

Places Recommended : Zoo de Doué in Doue-la-Fontaine.
It is advertised as 'one of France's best' and we had never seen anything like it. It is built in an old quarry with evidence of troglodytic dwellings. It's a fabulous day out.
Ackerman's Caves (wine cellars) were excellent - the tour, the history, the winetasting - worth a visit for wine lovers.
