Weather Overview for Sarigerme
Around about where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea you will find the beautiful coastal resort town of Sarigerme, in the south west of Turkey. Sarigerme is home to a desirable Mediterranean climate, complete with long hot summers and mild and short winters- this climate is very favourable for turtles as the waters outside the town are the home to many different species of salt water turtles!
The town is a beach side haven- so
obviously if you want to best utilize this you should probably plan your trip
in the summer months, though be warmed that the summer highs can reach in excess of 40 ºC and the daily lows in June and July only fall to about 24 ºC or 25 ºC.
This may be of concern if you weren’t sea side- though fortunately you’ve got
the
Summer
In the height of summer you will
bask in 13 hours of daylight per day, peaking at 14 hours in July! Most days have
clear skies and uninterrupted sunlight as well as scarce rainfall- perfect
summer holiday conditions. The waters see temperatures of 23 ºC, to 25 ºC,
absorbing the summers heat and creating perfect swimming conditions.
Winter
Winters in the region see the
coastal towns becoming quiet and a stark contrast from the hub of activity in
the summer months. The winter months are mild however, with December seeing daily highs of 17 ºC and only falling to a nighttime low of 8 ºC.
Typical of a Mediterranean climate, winter is when the region sees its heaviest
rainfall, lasts through until about mid spring before clearing
up and preparing again for summer.
The beach itself is a beautiful, long, white sandy beach with safe waters to
swim in and plenty of activity from the beach side cafes and bars. One thing to
remember when visiting is be sure to pack some mosquito repellent as in the
summer months in particular they can become quite the nuisance, so come
prepared if you don’t want to ruin your summer bod with red bites!
