Temperature

At this time of year, the average temperature for Santorini begins at 15°C on December 1st and steadily drops until it reaches 13°C by December 31st. Daily highs and lows change in the same fashion, falling from 17°C to 15°C and from 13°C to 11°C, respectively, as the month develops.

With average temperatures as cool as these, it's worth packing a selection of warm clothing to ensure you're comfortable during your holiday. Thin jumpers, t-shirts, trousers and jeans will be enough for the daytime, although you'll probably need a thick coat or jacket if you want to leave your hotel after dark. Things to do in Santorini in December 

Santorini is internationally renowned for its fantastic sun sets and one of the very best ways to see them is onboard a tour. The first stop is to see the church on Panagia Eposkopi – the oldest church on the island – then it's on to Pyrgos for a walk in the Medieval Castelli. The tour lasts around four hours from start to finish.

Christmas Day is celebrated throughout the whole of Santorini, so expect most shops, banks and supermarkets to be closed. Many bars, restaurants and hotels will put on some sort of party in celebration of this day, with drink deals, special meals and entertainment.
