December is the coolest month of the year in Santorini, but it is still much milder than most parts of northern Europe at this time of year. Daytime temperatures can still reach a very pleasant high of 19°C (66°F) and only fall to around 13°C (56°F) in the evenings. The sun shines for 6 hours a day, so if you fancy a bit of respite from the harsh UK winter then this is a great time to visit Santorini.

It is likely that you’ll experience some showers if you visit in December, with the average rainfall being about 102mm, so bring a light jacket or umbrella. Flights and accommodation will generally be cheaper at this time of year, so break with tradition and do something a bit different for Christmas!
