June Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

June is the first month of the Mediterranean summer in Santa Ponsa and on the rest of MajorcaSpain. Temperatures are soaring, giving way to the long stretch of hot and sunny weather that the summer climate guarantees. Any wet weather tends to dry up in June, so there's very little expectation of any showers.

June is one of the four months in the year that have an average temperature above 20°Che other three months are JulyAugust and September. The temperature averages 22°C. At night, the mercury drops to an average of no less than 16°C, while in the afternoon, the average temperature is 27°C. Those average low and high temperatures increase significantly in the course of the month. The nighttime low rises from 14°C to 17°C and the daytime high rises from 25°C to 29°C. The average sea temperature is also warmer than 20°C nowhe Mediterranean Sea averages 22°C in June, which is excellent for refreshing swims.

June has the longest days of the year in terms of daylight. June 1 has 14.46 hours of daylight; June 20, the longest day of the year, has 14.57 daylight hours; and June 30 has 14.54 hours of daylight. Cloud cover decreases greatly in the course of the monthune 1 has 34% of cloud cover while June 30 only has 25% of cloud cover left. It's the third-clearest month of the year. Clearing skies, of course, allow for more sunshine. June has 12 sunshine hours per day on average, the same number as in August and one hour fewer than the annual maximum of 13 hours in July. It's a gloriously sunny month.

The amount of rainfall improves enormously as well in June. Now, rainfall totals only 14mm in the entire month and rainfall occurs on merely 5 days. June is the second-driest month of the year, after July and before August. Total rainfall is less than a quarter of the annual maximum of 63mm, which is observed in November. The chance that precipitation occurs lessens in the course of June. While the beginning of the month has a 22% chance of a rain shower, the end has only a 14% chance. The two most likely types of rainfall are moderate rain and thunderstorms, respectively occurring on 36% and 27% of the days with rainfall. Drizzle and light rain are known to happen as well, respectively on 15% and 19% of the rainy days.

June is the beginning of the high tourist season in Santa Ponsa, with glorious weather and barely any rainfall attracting plenty of holiday-makers. Don't forget your sun cream, because at this time of the year, you're going to need it!

Casablanca Hotel and Apartments is situated only 200 metres from the beach and has 87 hotel-type rooms and 23 apartments. All hotel rooms have a bathroom, telephone and TVost of them have a terrace and sea view as well. The apartments are equipped with a bathroom, living room, kitchen, terrace, TV and telephone. Whether you're staying in a hotel room or in an apartment, you will be able to use all of the facilities, which include two bars, a dining room with buffet service, TV room, gardens and terraces, and two swimming pools. Bars and restaurants are located nearby too, as are golf courses and dive centres.

Another apartment complex is the Jutlandia Family Resort. This is an accommodation that's extremely popular among travelling families and couples because of its fun activities and great facilities. There are 125 apartment units (with one or two bedrooms) with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, balcony or terrace, and bathroom. Facilities and services include three pools, a splash pool with slides, a pool snack bar, a kids' club, a large solarium area with parasols and sunloungers, TV lounge, entertainment programs, excursions and tourist information, a games room, and a car rental service.

With the weather heating up, the beach is likely to be your prime destination in June in Santa Ponsa. Santa Ponsa offers a beautiful main beach, simply called Santa Ponsa Beach, with plenty of golden sand. It's no wonder that this is such a popular beach resort destinationt's a spectacular beach, about 1.5 kilometres long and no less than 100 metres wide. There are plenty of facilities, including free parking, toilets and showers, and a broad selection of hotels lies right behind the beach. If you want to do more than sunbathe though, the warm sea is an inviting option for going for a swim or trying out some water sports.

The Basement is one of the few nightclubs in town. It is open seven nights a week and features renowned DJs. Addition to hosting some of the best dance parties in the resort, the Basement also organises pool parties at the bar and pool of neighbouring Deya Apartments.

A completely different venue that you might want to visit in the evening is Fat Sam's. This all-American restaurant is designed as a diner and serves hamburgers, fries, nachos, hot dogs and the like. If you're after some classic American fast food, this is the place to go.

June is the start of the high season in the resort. However, the crowds only begin to arrive toward the end of the month, so most June days are still relatively quietet with excellent beach weather. A suggested thing to do is going on an excursion to Es Trenc beach, a full-day trip that takes place every weekday from June through September. Es Trenc is often considered to be the most beautiful beach in Majorca. It's sometimes referred to as the Caribbean of Majorca for its spectacularly blue water.

If you want something else than beaches and sea, a visit to a nearby waterpark would be a valid option. In neighbouring Magaluf, you will find the Western Waterpark, a fun waterpark with slides, rides, attractions and shows for young and old. From Monday through Friday, there are free buses to and from Santa Ponsa.
