Weather

We went in May last year and the weather was fab! Came back with the best tan, which lasted for a good few months.

Holiday

We stayed in the Golden Port hotel, the staff were very friendly and the entertainment was ok. It had a lovely pool and plenty of things for the children.

The weather was very warm, usually in the 70's and only dropping to the high 60's overnight.

No rain all week, very light breezes.

A lot better than West Limerick anyhow.

Holiday

We stayed in the Salou suites Aparthotel and were worried before we arrived by some of the bad reviews we had found on the net but on arrival were very pleased with what we found.

We bought a weeks pass for Portaventura (being theme park fans) and were disappointed. A tip for anyone is to buy the privilege pass for a few extra euros which lets you avoid the huge queues and hordes of schoolkids that know absolutely nothing about the concept of queuing. The best rides commanded a waiting time of up to 90 mins and to be honest are not as good as the parks in the UK.

Barcelona is well worth a day visit.

Cambrils is a fantastic place to go and eat and people watch and just soak up the sun and atmosphere.

All the local beaches are excellent with loungers costing a paltry 4 euro per day.

Ask about the local markets and you will find lots to do and see. We, not only, went to several markets but ended up exploring some of the towns and finding the real towns.

Buy a bus pass when you get to Salou and just top it up with as many journeys as you want.Each journey then costs only 88cents and you can travel miles. We found the local bus system excellent.

Weather

The weather was very hot for 5 days, overcast for 1.5 days.

It was 32C for three days and 29C for the rest.
Had one dull day.

Holiday

I stayed at BEST OASIS PARK HOTEL which is central and I found the hotel excellent.

As a single traveller I felt very safe in SALOU.

I took two day trips to MONTSERRAT and BARCELONA and these were fantastic.

The PANARAMIC TRIP to Barcelona took you to places that were exciting.

Salou has a fantastic beach for families and all age groups are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers, with things to do on the beach. The area around is so safe, the sea is very calm and goes out a long way before it gets deep.

I will certainly visit again with my Grandchildren.

Weather is really good - around 90 not to hot or cold.
Perfect for swimming and subathing.
Never a drop of rain or a cloud in the sky.

AMAZING
WE HAVE BEEN THERE 7 TIMES AND WOULDN'T BAT AN EYELID AT THE TOUGHT OF GOING BACK.

IF YOU STAY IN YOUR OWN PRIVATE VILLA EXCELLENT BUT THE HOTEL PORT AVENTURA HOTELS TIE THE WHOLE HOLIDAY TOGETHER. AND IF YOU STAY THERE YOU GET FREE PASSES TO THE THEME PARK WHICH IS BRILLIANT!

GOOD FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

We always go for our 2nd holiday of the year in Oct. The weather is nice and warm and nights too. Only the odd few hours the weather was dull and it only rained once at night.

Holiday

The holiday was good like always. It's a holiday where we chill at the Hotel Calyspo and the kids love the hotel and Salou sooo much.

The beach is fab for familys and nice and clean.

The little trains that run from place to place are cheap and a good way to see alot of Salou.

Nice and flat to walk or push. Good for familys.

The weather was lovely about 75 to 80 the whole week.
We went to the beach every day.
Lots of cafes on the front.
Very sunny and hot.
Use at least 20spf sunscreen as we both burnt our feet.
Keep your room patio door closed at night because we got very bitten the last night as i left door open.
We will definitely go again.
Good value for money.
Thomas cook was great....

Holiday

Everyone was kind and helpful.
Danny Boys bar at night was a hoot.
The big match with Barcelona was on.
I got sozzled on Sangria mum stuck to tea and football.

The weather was most probably the best thing about the holiday.
We went end sept and it was not too hot, but hot enough to go on the beach every day.

I could not believe it when we went to the beach and there were 4 lorries/diggers there digging a trench.... they were there for a few days!

Holiday

We stayed at Podium Apartments in Salou... well we were not impressed...none of the facilities were open...no bar, no cafe, no entertainment... staff told me no rep .....but I met her on the last day of hol when she knocked on our apartment door...we were locked out every night and had to bang on the doors for someone to let us in...had to wait ages some evenings... they would not give us a key for the front door and carried baseball bat around with them.
Once we got into the building the door was locked up to the apts.
We had to get the lift....the door is actually the fire escape, so if there was a fire and you could not use the lift then the door would be locked when you reached the ground floor.
No cleaner came for the whole week, we had to ask for clean towels and empty our own rubbish!
There were screws sticking out the top of the bedside table! The sink had a huge crack in it
definitely not recommended!

The weather was absolutly gorgeous did'nt have one bad day,as we were leaving it was getting even hotter

It was not the best holiday I have been on the hotel was beautiful but was not suitable for teenagers: they did have entertainment for teenagers but was nothing overly good
It is good for adults who like drinking and children.
The pools were very nice.
There was nothing too special about the shows they were performed by the same people all the time.
There is a hotel right beside it called the Sunclub I would recommend going there as it has late night entertainment.
The closest beach was not nice at all
The nicest beach was in Salou itself but we had a very good bus service and there was always taxis around but over all I would'nt go back .

Weather was good apart from last day it was a big storm and the water poured into our hotel room, so we had to act as cleaners to get all the water out.
A bit of a panic and rainy day but in the whole it was ok.

Holiday

Well, the hotel was in isolated place where there was nowhere to go but the view was beautiful as it was situated right near the sea.
The hotel however did have everyday entertainments so good for elderly people!
The atmosphere was crap because there were lot of children constantly running wild , shouting and crying- Definitely not for teenagers!
Furthermore I was shocked with the amount of DOGS present in the hotel, I could hear their bark at night sleeping behind very thin walls.

The resort is absolutely nothing special, a few shops, no entertainment on the beach, a few restaurants with the usual English cuisine of fish and chips- pretty dull and boring!

Weather was superb not a drop of rain lowest day was 26 highest was 44 sun all the time got badly burnt would highly recommend a high factor of suncream.

Best holiday I have ever been on
Stayed in the Villa Marina all inc and I cant wait to return the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly
Best I have ever had and we were not far from Port Aventura a must go place with loads to do and see especially the shows were excellent

The weather was warm and sunny most days had some rain but it was still warm.
We all still managed to get a good suntan.

Holiday

We all thought the holiday was brilliant the hotel was spotless all the time and the food was good.
The Negresco Hotel is situated near the beach with beautiful views.
We enjoyed the bar entertainment and children that was in the hotel seemed to enjoy it to.
The outside pools was always clean as was the indoor pool.

Hot every day, sunny blue skies, a few clouds but it does'nt affect the heat, we had 6 days of sun then on the last day there was a thunder storm, and although it sounds bad it was well worth seeing, just make sure you are inside when you start to see a black cloud, fortunately it does'nt happen often, very good place to get a tan:)

Great and I recommend it to anyone with a small family plenty to do, Portaventura is'nt as good as it is made out to be but its worth visiting, good communication, great food and English shops there as well, Thomas Cook highly recommended!!
Great entertainment at night, beautiful view, we had a storm on last day, beautiful to watch but just as a precaution stay inside because it is big thunder and big hail stones, perfectly safe in side though, the beach is unbelievable!

The weather was a bit mixed but this did not in anyway spoil our holiday. I think they have had some of the worst May weather in history, these things happen.

We all had a great time. Salou was clean and welcoming. Its a bit expensive in Euro land at the moment but our budget did just stretch.

Fantastic overall averaged 24-26c some clouds for one day but we were expecting bad weather so it was lovely to get loads of rays

Holiday

A bit crap really as we found the hotel did not measure up, suppose to be a 4star and was definite struggling to reach a 2star.

Accommodation was very basic and the pool areas were not big enough to hold all the sunloungers.

Also the pool area was dirty, although it was hosed down every night it wasn't scrubbed or sterilised and people had frequently stubbed cigarette butts and broke glass were there were loads of little children walking about, it was pretty disgusting.

Walls were paper thin.

Nothing to offer in Salou resort but tacky shops and poor quality food.

Who goes on holiday and loses weight???

This resort is ok if you want basic, socialising with anyone from Ireland or the UK and smoke and drink like a trooper

Weather was very mixed quite cool and two days of very heavy rain. Only had 1 or 2 really nice days.

Good rather than very good, our apartments were a bit isolated but with a really good bus service right outside the door. Would have been excellent if the weather had been better.
