Weather : The wetaher was superb in June- highs of between 35 and 40 degress c daily!
Bare in mind I was away from the coast slightly so temperatures do drop by an average of 5-10.
But still, early June and glorious sunshine every day with mild evenings- even a scirocco wind making it like fire.
Brindisi has a light breeze to strong wind every day making it pleasant in the hotter months.
On one evening it did try to rain- 3 spits and it stopped!!

Holiday : This part of Italy is nearly untouched by tourism other than Italians!!
So if they holiday there, it tells you how good it is!

I reccomend seeing the Trulli in Arrobellobello. Absolutely out of this world- a UNESCO world heritage site with the most amzing buildings, a stunning town and you can drink Italian coffee on the street all day if you want to.

There are so many quaint areas in this region it is just a case of getting out there and deciding where to go.

All the restaurants offer superb home cooked Italian food and the food in this region is the best in Italy and 90% of the regions olives end up on the plates of families around Italy along with the pasta and other fine ingredients that only grow in the region.

Puglia is so beautiful with the mix of country, seaside and small towns, full of history but truely Italian. A word of warning though, being so Italian, a basic bit of spoken Italian can come in helpful especially when ordering food or drink!

Places Recommended : As I have already said the Trulli is a must see.

Ostunni (the White City) is also quite a spectre on the horizon overlooking the sea. Walk the narrow streets but be warned they are steep in places and this is quite a work out- but there are plenty of places to sit and rest and enjoy gellato!!

Brindisi itself is very nice but you are better off getting out further of the city itself- there is more to see in the surrounds than just in Brindisi.

For accomodation I stayed at the villa of an English couple, it was essential to get hire car as they live in San Vito De Normanni, about 30 mins from airport and the nearest shops are around 1KM away - but they do have bikes aswell that you can use on site for a bike ride in and around if you want to leave the car at the villa.
