June is your last chance to visit Puerto Rico before the popular summer season begins. With temperatures reaching a sizzling 24°C during the day, you can expect to spend lazy afternoons sunbathing by the pool or people watching at the beach. The temperatures in the evening can cool to around 18°C, which is ideal for taking a leisurely stroll around the resort.
History fans won’t want to miss the chance to visit Mundo Aborigen – a re-enactment of an ancient Canarian village devoted to the first people of the island – the Guanches. Located between Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, this exhibition is in the largest gorge in Gran Canaria and offers a wonderful day out for the whole family to enjoy.
Amadores Beach is ideal for relaxing on the warm golden sand and soaking up some Canarian sunshine. If you get bored of sunbathing, pop into one of the nearby cafes, shops or restaurants. Don’t forget to try the water sports – you’ll find a spectacular range of aquatic activities in Puerto Rico, including surfing, sailing, jet skiing and scuba diving.
If you’re travelling with children, check out Palmitos Park. This animal zoo is one of the most popular attractions in Gran Canaria and offers amazing animal shows, as well as a butterfly house, orchid house and cactus garden.
