Holiday Reviews for Puerto de Pollensa
"should have been prepared for the weather !"
Weather : This was not what I ordered !
Wind, rain and very chilly nights.
We had a few sunny days but there was always a cool wind blowing.
Eveyone else had been sensible and had come prepared with jackets and brollies - we have been holidaying in the Balearics in October for many years and this is the first time we have been let down by the weather.
Holiday : We stayed at the Club del Sol in Pollensa and were very pleased with the facilities there. As we had our two teenagers with us [14 and 17] we were worried that they might be bored but the games room with internet access and the free gym kept them in the manner they have come to expect...a home from home for them.
The evening entertainment was excellent on the two evenings we stayed in. We ate there three times and found the food choices and quality very good.
New Jules restaurant at the bottom of the road does an excellent filletsteak.
We hired a car from Lagoon cars in Pollensa, £140 for the week and tootled around the Island chasing the sun.
Places Recommended : We discovered Paguera and the Octoberfest Beer celebrations for the first time.. Well worth a visit.
Took a hike round the national reserva at Puigipunyent on a cool day... Wonderfull views but take your own picnic as the food was awful.
Visited Festival Park outlet and spent loads on clothing and went bowling, gave the circus a miss as they had a white tiger, too cruel for my taste.

"First time in Puerto Pollensa"
Weather : First night we got there was balmy & warm, clear starry skies & the water was calm, most days were very warm, not uncomfortably so but definitely hot. Got very hot between 12-4pm, this was my best time to tan! One day out of 7 it was quite cloudy but still warm, so we went an excursion to the waterpark in Alcudia rather than sunbathe that day. Overall weather was amazing.
Holiday : There are so many places to eat and drink, we stayed in the Eolo hotel which is right in the centre and 2mins from the beautiful beach, we were also next to all the shops, bars and restaurants. The place was constantly busy but not in a bad way, Puerto Pollensa is a very romantic place, mist nights after dinner we would walk up and down the promenade with a cone & just people watch, the sunset was beautiful every night too.
Places Recommended : Definitley visit Formentor, we went twice that week by boat, was 10 euro's each for a return trip and the boat comes and goes every hour from 10am until 6.30pm. The water's so clear and warm, and the beach is gorgeous, expensive for sunbed's(12 euro's each!)and drinks but its worth it to go at least once, the boat trip lets you see some amazing view's. Oh and try and eat at a restaurant called The Stay, by the marina, very posh but worth it just to sit by the marina at night with a drink :)

"The nicest place I've ever been!"
Weather : Beautiful, the sun was always shinning. Very warm, late 20's to mid 30's. Be aware to stay in the shade between 1pm and 3pm.
Holiday : Great lovely beaches, and the little town is lovely. The people are also very nice. There is some shops for the ladies, some ice-cream for the children and for the men, they can gaze at the boats in the harbour. And for a romantic walk go along the pine walk.
Places Recommended : The Old town of Puerto de Pollenca. Climb up 365 steps up to a lovely little church. ( you can get an ice cream at the top)
