Averages for Playacar in June
Playacar, Mexico, is the perfect choice for travellers who want the convenience and options of the attractions in busy Playa del Carmen but without the fast, on-the-go way of life and the loud nightlife. Located just a few minutes south of the resort, separated only by the Playa del Carmen airport, Playacar is a safe and luxurious community catering to all.
June is one of the warmest months in Playacar, with temperatures reaching the mid 30s for the first time in the year. Typically, temperatures range from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius and will continue to do so throughout July and August. Rainfall increases as the rainy season gets well and truly underway, but at around 189mm it’s not enough to cause bother.
On a rainy day, a trip into neighbouring Playa del Carmen is called for. The 20 block long 5th Avenue is known as tourist central, and there’s plenty to keep visitors entertained along here even on the wettest of days. The street is lined with small, intimate cafes, down to earth pubs and sophisticated wine and cocktail bars which are perfect for ducking into when it’s a little drizzly outside.
For travellers who worked up an appetite walking around Playa del Carmen, head back to Playacar and to the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa. The Grand Buffet Festival at this hotel is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves up a huge range of international cuisine in an all-you-can-eat buffet style environment. Pick and choose your favourites, and help yourself to seconds!
For truly budget accommodation, something that isn’t particularly forthcoming in such a upmarket resort town, the Hotel Hacienda Vista Real is a true gem. Despite being a 5* hotel, rooms cost as little as £40 per night, making them possibly the best value in all of Playacar. All rooms are decorated with artwork from local Mexican artists, giving the hotel a truly authentic feel.
