Averages for Penang in June

June weather in Penang is warm but not as wet as spring.  The amount of rainfall drops down to 170 mm over the course of the month.  It’s still very rainy — at least half the month is spent with rain clouds, but the temperature is warm and drier compared to spring.  The average daily temperature is 28 degrees Celsius but it can get as hot as 31 degrees.  If that is too much heat for you, you can take a dip in the Straits of Malacca which is 30 degrees Celsius at this time of year.

Located at the north end of the Penang Island, the PARKROYAL Penang Resort is both idyllic and budget-friendly.  Geared towards couples on their honeymoons or families on vacation, this resort strives to be luxurious and comfortable.  The location is undeniably memorable.  If you book a stay at this hotel, try to get a room on the top of the ocean side portion of the hotel you can enjoy the view without even having to leave your room.

June brings one incredible festival to Penang – the International Dragon Boat Festival.  Conducted off of the northern coast of Penang Island, this race attracts participants from all over the world.  Make a stop to see the colorful boats and flags race across the bright blue waters.

If you are travelling to Penang with kids, a trip to Adventure Zone may be in order.  This massive venue is equipped with endless games and courses to keep both you and your kids busy.  While your kids navigate the ropes course, you can challenge your spouse or even an attractive new friend to Skeeball or a friendly competition of Wii.
