Due to Jamaica’s tropical climate, July is a very hot and humid time to visit Ocho Rios. Temperatures can reach a sizzling 31°C during the hottest part of the day, so be prepared and pack plenty of suntan lotion and light, airy clothing. The evenings bring a small bit of relief and cool down to about 26°C after sunset. Ocho Rios experiences around 14 rainy days each July, so it’s likely you’ll get some rain during your visit.
The Seville Emancipation Jubilee takes place at the end of July in Ocho Rios at the Seville Heritage Park – one of Jamaica’s most important cultural sites. This festive event celebrates emancipation and African heritage.
Turtle River Falls and Gardens is a fantastic day out for the whole family to enjoy. This 15-acre tropical garden features 14 cascading waterfalls and a huge number of indigenous plants and exotic birds. You can explore the gardens on your own or take part in a tour with a guide who provides information on everything you’ll see.
